What’s the story?

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set for a bidding war over the signature of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, who is valued at £100 million.

In case you didn’t know…

Sancho is one of the hottest prospects in Europe currently, with the youngster starring in the Bundesliga this season. The 18-year-old has played 32 games this season, scoring nine times and contributing 14 assists in all competitions.

The former Manchester City youngster has been an integral part of the Dortmund team this season, making a name for himself on the right side of attack in the Bundesliga.

Sancho’s form has made him a target of some of Europe’s elite clubs, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain being mooted as possible destinations.

The heart of the matter

The Telegraph reports that Dortmund are willing to sell their prized asset, but would demand not less than £100 million for the England winger.

The report suggests United and PSG are engaged in a bidding war for the teenager’s signature. The Red Devils have had problems on the right side of attack, with Alexis Sanchez failing to replicate his form of old since joining from Arsenal.

Therefore, the Red Devils could view Sancho as the ideal player for the right-wing. Meanwhile, PSG are also interested in the 18-year-old and are reportedly ready to outbid the English giants.

According to the report, Dortmund are prepared to play the waiting game in order to drive Sancho’s price higher, as both Man United and PSG try to outbid each other.

Rumour Probability: 7/10

Sancho is a very talented footballer and many European clubs would love to sign him. However, with the transfer window currently closed, the summer will be the best time to judge if PSG and Man United will be willing to spend that much on the rising Dortmund star.

What’s next?

Sancho will be in action on Tuesday night as Dortmund try to overturn a 3-0 deficit against Tottenham in the second-leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.
