Mauricio Pochettino, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, is not being considered by Bayern Munich as a potential candidate for their head-coach role, as reported by BILD journalist Christian Falk.

Bayern, who sacked former head coach Niko Kovac just 18 months into the job, have been heavily linked with the Argentine since Spurs removed him last month. While caretaker Hans-Dieter Flick has done well in his role so far – four wins in five games – the German giants are looking to recruit a more experienced and accomplished name at the helm.

Pochettino, who took Tottenham to the UEFA Champions League final last year, had initially emerged as one of the most obvious candidates for the Bayern role. However, according to a report in BILD, the club hierarchy are inclined towards Paris-Saint German boss Thomas Tuchel, who has a close relationship with Flick and is also fluent in german.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have now been handed a boost in their pursuit of Pochettino, who seems to be their prime target to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Arsenal, Tottenham's North-London rivals, are also in the race for the 47-year-old, having removed Unai Emery last week.
