Manchester United are all but set to make former Dutch goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar as the new goalkeeping coach.

Current goalkeeping coach Chris Woods’ future is still unclear at Manchester United amidst rumors that he will be sacked once the new coach is appointed by the Red Devils.

Rumours also say that Manchester United will make an immediate announcement about appointing Louis Van Gaal as the next Manchester United manager. Earlier Van Der Sar was offered the same role by Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2011 when he announced his retirement. Van Der Sar refused to take up the job because of his personal issues.

Van Der Sar is currently the ambassador of Manchester United and is also a marketing director for his former club Ajax Amsterdam. With fellow Dutchman Van Gaal rumoured to take the hot seat at Old Trafford, he could convince him to take up this role.

Van Der Sar spent six seasons at Old Trafford and won four Premier League titles and one Champions League title with Manchester United.
