Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o is set to be one of several first-team members that will be moved on by the west Londoners in the summer as manager Jose Mourinho looks to rebuild his squad, report the Express.
The Cameroon forward joined the club on a free transfer on a one year contract last summer but is not expected to be retained past the end of the current campaign.
The Blues strike force has endured a largely disappointing season, with the front line clearly lacking fire power, which has ultimately cost the side in their pursuit of silverware.
Meanwhile, fellow forwards Fernando Torres and Demba Ba are also likely to leave the club after a string of uninspiring performances to make way for new arrivals.
Reports have emerged that Chelsea have agreed a deal for Diego Costa with Atletico Madrid, with his purchase reported to be offset by the sale of a number of other squad members including David Luiz, Ramires, John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses.
Chelsea also have a huge number of fringe players that will be deemed surplus to requirements by the Portuguese boss with Marko Marin, Oriol Romeu, Gael Kakuta, Josh McEachran, Hilario and Sam Hutchinson amongst others.
Mourinho is ruthless in the transfer market and clearly wants an overhaul as he looks to build a side capable of challenging on all four trophy fronts next season.
Samuel Eto’o has scored nine goals in 21 appearances in the Premier League this season.
