What’s the story?

The summer transfer window is almost here and Real Madrid are looking to spend big. One name that keeps popping up in the list of players constantly being linked to Los Blancos is Neymar Jr. Ever since the Brazilian left Camp Nou to join Paris Saint Germain, his name has been linked with a move back to Spain, with Real Madrid as the suitors this time. Currently, speculations are on the round once again.

Although PSG have reaffirmed their desire to keep the world record signing with them next season, Santos president Jose Carlos Peres has stated that he hopes the Brazilian moves to Real Madrid.

In case you didn’t know..

Neymar left FC Barcelona in 2017 to join the Parisians in a bid to lift the Ballon d'Or for a world record transfer that amounted to a fee of €222 million.

The heart of the matter

Neymar Jr's future at the French capital is under heavy speculation as he has been linked to Real Madrid for a long time now and is even someone who is admired by the club president, Florentino Perez who absolutely adores him and also rates the Brazilian very high.

Now Santos' president Jose Carlos Peres has come out and expressed his views on where the world record signing should head next, as he said:

"I hope Neymar goes to Real Madrid, it would be the best place for him."
"He was totally wrong to leave Barcelona, he was still growing as a player. He hasn't done well since he left.
"I'm a follower of Real Madrid and it's a club that does things in a perfect way. If he gets the chance to wear the Real Madrid shirt, then he shouldn't think twice."

Peres implied that Neymar committed a heavy mistake in leaving the Camp Nou for PSG and must grab the very first opportunity he gets to wear the royal white and play at the Santiago Bernabeu.

What's next?

Neymar is still very much in his hunt to win the Ballon d'Or and Real Madrid seems like the only way forward. It remains interesting to see if Zinedine Zidane is willing to splash the cash to acquire the Brazilian or has some different alternatives.
