Sergio Aguero's hat-trick against Arsenal last weekend not only sealed Manchester City's win, but also solidified their place on the Premier League table. Manchester City are second now in the Premier League, with just three points separating them from league leaders Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero needs no introduction. He has been the Premier League's serial goalscorer since his arrival in England. He has scored 157 goals and racked up 41 assists for Manchester City, in 227 appearances, helping his team win 149 of the matches in the process. Despite being only 30 years old, the Argentine is well in the hunt for being Premier League's top scorer.

Alan Shearer leads the list of the Premier League's greatest forwards with 260 goals, ahead of Wayne Rooney and Andy Cole. Aguero sits eighth in the list, but is closing in on Jermain Defoe (162) and Robbie Fowler (163) above him. Aguero's goals per game ratio is tremendous, outgunning the great forwards in the league, as he has scored a goal per 108 minutes in the Premier League.

Despite the staggering statistics, Aguero’s game revolves around much more on the pitch than just goals. Due to his versatility, Aguero provides his manager with plenty of options. His ability to create space and pick out teammates gives the Argentine the tools to be more dynamic on the pitch.

Mostly, Aguero plays as a sole striker in the team, but he can feature as a second striker and on the flanks as well.

We are all familiar with Aguero's penchant of performing on the biggest stage and he has already scored some extremely vital goals in his career. His last minute goal against QPR reamins one of the unforgettable moments in Premier League history, which helped Manchester City win the league after 44 years in 2012.

It is not a coincidence that Manchester City's success has gone hand-in-hand with Aguero's success. Aguero has been ever-present with City, leading the team to three Premier League title victories. He may not have the nostalgic value of Shearer, Rooney, Cole or Henry, considering he is still playing in the Premier League, but Sergio Aguero may just go down as one of the best forwards of all time in the Premier League.
