November's power ranking is here!
November's power ranking is here!

This season, the Serie A has gained a sleuth of new fans, partly due to the transfer of you know who to the defending champions in the summer, and also the gradual rise of the other clubs to raise the level of competition for the top spot.

The international break seemed to be the perfect time for us to see how the Italian top flight is faring so far.

Juventus have soared through the competition, having their best ever start to a league season, with 11 victories and a draw after 12 matchdays.

Napoli is the club closest to them, sitting six points behind at 28, looking the team most likely, along with the Mauro Icardi lead Inter Milan, to cause the Old Lady any headaches in the title 'race' this season.

With 12 matchdays having been played so far, we have the brand new Serie A Power Rankings out. This monthly feature will keep you updated with the Top 10 players in the Serie A based on current form. So let's dive right in, shall we.

#10 Allan (SSC Napoli)

Allan is creating some of his best ever performances under Ancelotti, and his influence over the team has grown since the departure of Jorginho along with Sarri.
Allan is creating some of his best ever performances under Ancelotti, and his influence over the team has grown since the departure of Jorginho along with Sarri.

Napoli's midfield stalwart Allan has played part in every Serie A game so far this season, averaging 2.9 successful tackles, 1.4 successful key passes per game, having a tackle success of 68.1%.

He acts as the glue that holds the Napoli team together, and let's the more attack-minded players such as Insigne, Callejon, Mertens etc. to create a larger impact further up the pitch.

He's had a superb November so far for his club, having big impacts in games against Genoa and Empoli so far, but his overall play since the start of the season has been more than worthy of some recognition.

His quiet brilliance has not gone unnoticed by us, as he sits at No. 10 only because of the level that the other players are pushing themselves to this year, showcasing to us the best Serie A we've seen in quite some time.

#9 Joao Cancelo (Juventus FC)

Cancelo has established himself as one of the best Right-Backs in the division
Cancelo has established himself as one of the best Right-Backs in the division

The Portuguese right-back, who was a loanee at Inter Milan last year, made his permanent move away from Valencia to the Turin giants this summer.

He's been nothing short of a revelation so far for the Old Lady, as him and his dashing overlaps down the right wing have been a key reason for Juventus enjoying a great deal of attacking success.

His presence on the flank allows Ronaldo & Co. to storm the box and wait for the cross, and make the opposition pay, and he's played a similar role to what Carvajal plays for Ronaldo's former employers.

He averages 1.7 key passes per game, and has made 7 clearances, 6 interceptions, but has been unfortunate to rack up only a solitary assist to his name so far, though his performances have been absolutely crucial to Juventus' brilliant run of form this season.

#8 Krzysztof Piatek (Genoa FC)

Piatek has been a key reason for Genoa not being amongst top contenders for being in the relegation spots this season.
Piatek has been a key reason for Genoa not being amongst top contenders for being in the relegation spots this season.

Genoa has had quite an abysmal season so far defensively, having conceded 26 goals, the third most in the league this season.

Their defensive woes have been soothed by summer signing Krzysztof Piatek firing in nine goals after 12 games, making the Polish striker the top scorer in the league currently.

Piatek has been a battering ram so far, bullying defenders into making mistakes, and being clinical with the chances he's got so far, burying in goals of all sorts, making him one of the best No.9's in the league so far this season.

He has been Genoa's best player by some margin, and his goals might turn out to be the thing that keeps the club in the top flight for the following season, and his low rating at the power rankings has only been due to his lacking performances in the past few matchdays, as he has not scored a goal since the first week of October.

#7 Ciro Immobile (SS Lazio)

So far this season, Immobile has been vital to Lazio's hopes of qualifying for European football next season.
So far this season, Immobile has been vital to Lazio's hopes of qualifying for European football next season.

Ciro Immobile has established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the Italian top flight, having scored 29 and 23 goals in the league during his previous two years at the club.

The Italian hitman seems to be on track to match or better his tally so far this season, having scored eight goals in 11 appearances so far this season.

He epitomizes the term 'fox in the box', having scored seven of his eight goals from inside the box, and is also a key contributor to the team's overall play, having made 21 key passes so far this season.

His goals are the reason his team is fourth in the table right now, as the rest of his team-mates have only come up with 10 goals amongst themselves, whilst conceding 14 in the league this year.

#6 Mario Mandzukic (Juventus FC)

Mandzukic's presence in the starting XI has coincided with Juventus' best performances so far this season, and it isn't a coincidence,
Mandzukic's presence in the starting XI has coincided with Juventus' best performances so far this season, and it isn't a coincidence,

The three lunged Croat has been brilliant so far this season, and he's an example for all youngsters in terms of professionalism, doing whatever is needed for the team to succeed and running his socks off, leaving everything out on the field in every game he plays.

The soon to be 33-year-old has made nine Serie A starts this season, is allowed some degree of rest after his gruelling World Cup campaign in which he gave it his all for his nation, even scoring in the final.

But the games in which he has had a part so far this season have been some of the best performances from the league leaders.

His inclusion in the lineup gives players like Ronaldo, Dybala, Costa etc. more freedom to get higher up the pitch while he runs into dangerous positions to create and finish off chances for his team.

He's scored five goals and provided two assists so far this season, but his contribution to the team cannot be quantified in numbers alone.

He presses the opposition's defence, tracks back deep to defend, and clears the ball whenever he senses the threat for a counter attack, making him one of the most intelligent players in the division so far this season.

#5 Nikola Milenkovic (ACF Fiorentina)

The big Serb showcases an ability and assurance that seems beyond his years, and it won't be long before a top club swoops him up to showcase his skills at a bigger stage.
The big Serb showcases an ability and assurance that seems beyond his years, and it won't be long before a top club swoops him up to showcase his skills at a bigger stage.

Fiorentina currently sits ninth in the Serie A table, 17 points behind league leader Juventus.

Having a player in the top 10 for them might seem quite bizarre on the surface, but Nikola Milenkovic and his performances so far this season are going some way into showing why he is one of the best defensive talents in the league this year.

Statistically, he's been the best defender in the league so far and watching him play only reaffirms that.

He's played every minute in the league this year, having scored two goals, as well as averaging 3.5 clearances, 1.5 tackles, 1.4 interceptions per game.

His imposing frame means he's rarely bullied into mistakes, and for a guy his size, has quite a turn of pace, rarely being out-run by opposition attackers.

His positional awareness is quite amazing, as he is rarely caught out by a long pass, and it won't be long before he decides to take his talents elsewhere.

#4 Lorenzo Insigne (SSC Napoli)

Insigne has been key to Ancelotti's plans on the Scudetto this season, and his performances so far this season have shown that the Italian's coaching has taken him to another level, making him a force to reckon with in Serie A
Insigne has been key to Ancelotti's plans on the Scudetto this season, and his performances so far this season have shown that the Italian's coaching has taken him to another level, making him a force to reckon with in Serie A

The diminutive Italian has received a brand new role under new head coach Carlo Ancelotti this season, making him the fulcrum of Napoli's attack.

And the Italian international has repaid his coach's faith having scored seven goals and recording three assists so far this season.

Insigne is looking a more complete player this year, having made 28 key passes to his team-mates, being unfortunate not to rack up more assists to his name.

Him, Callejon and Dries Mertens are one of the most fluid attacks in Italy, and all three are capable of occupying any role in the front-line (and also a spot on our top 10, but sorry Mertens, Jose.) making them one of the best attacks not only in Italy, but around the World.

#3 Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

The 25-year-old Argentine is crucial for Inter, as his goals are what often are the difference maker in games, making him the true leader of the club.
The 25-year-old Argentine is crucial for Inter, as his goals are what often are the difference maker in games, making him the true leader of the club.

The Argentine sensation has been the Milan clubs' talisman for quite a while now, having scored 29 goals last year whilst being club captain.

He seems to have taken another step in the right direction under the coaching of Luciano Spaletti this year after being snubbed over and over by his national team.

He's scored seven goals in nine league starts this season, also laying on two assists for his teammates, as his influence over his team, and his reputation as one of Europe's finest strikers grows every time he steps on the pitch.

He's also made 11 key passes so far this term, and the Argentine poacher averages a goal every 108 minutes of league action, behind only Dries Mertens, who's been used mostly as a super sub so far this season.

#2 Suso (AC Milan)

Suso is a major reason for Milan being in the European spots this season, and he is their best player by some distance, having a hand in more than 50% of his side's goals this year.
Suso is a major reason for Milan being in the European spots this season, and he is their best player by some distance, having a hand in more than 50% of his side's goals this year.

The Spanish magician Suso sits at No.2 in our power rankings, as he' been absolutely majestic so far this season.

Leading the league in assists, with eight to his name, whilst also racking up four goals, making him one of the most influential players in the Italian top flight this year, with 34 key passes so far in the league.

Milan sits currently at the fifth spot in the league, 13 points behind the league leaders, and Suso has had a huge role in that, playing a part in 12 out of the 21 goals his side have scored so far this season.

The Spanish superstar has been let down by his teammates on more occasion than one this season, as he's been consistently the most creative player on the pitch for his side.

If Milan keeps performing like this and doesn't improve, it won't be too long before the former Liverpool starlet decides to take his talents to a bigger team.

#1 Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus FC)

Despite being 33, Ronaldo has been the best player in the league this year and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Despite being 33, Ronaldo has been the best player in the league this year and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Honestly, I've run out of superlatives to describe Cristiano Ronaldo. How he does it, week in week out year after year, no matter what the circumstance is beyond me.

The guy's an absolute beast and is on track to become the first player in the history of football to have won the league in England, Spain, and Italy.

The Portuguese phenomenon has scored eight goals in the league so far, while racking up five assists, playing every minute in the league till now.

He's picked up the man of the match award in six of his 12 league starts and has shown why he is considered one of the best to have ever kicked a ball.

His move from Real Madrid has been a raging success for everyone except his former club so far, and the Bianconeri look on their way to win an unprecedented eighth consecutive league title among other honours this year with his talismanic presence in the squad.

Juventus were a really strong team without him, but since his arrival, they have taken their game to a different level, and look to be on course for much success with CR7 for the next few years.
