Subroto Cup’s Khelo Football initiative got a rousing response in Delhi NCR

New Delhi, 16th August ‘16

Asia’s biggest and most prestigious youth football tournament completed its 6th clinic at Somerville School, Vasundhara Enclave. The #KheloFootball initiative, envisaged by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, presented by Star Sports and supported by Delhi Dynamos as the football development partner is now in full bloom as every clinic garners participation from a large number of students.

The scouts were kept really busy with the search and the decision was made hard by the presence of many talented students with their aim set for making the WILD CARD entry into the Subroto Cup finale at Delhi in Sept-Oct 2016.

The 5 girl students shortlisted from the clinic are- Manasi, Deepika from Vani Ahlcon Public School; Mehr from Lotus Valley School; Smriti, Gracy from Somerville School.

The 5 boy students shortlisted being Shashank Bisht from Govt Coed Sr. Sec School; Vidit Sharma from Aster Public School; Tanmay Sachdeva from Ahlcon Public School; Nikhil from Aster Public School; Jagannath from Govt Sr Sec School; Harsh from K V, Muradnagar.

The awards – Footballs, Merchandise and Certificates were given to the students who participated in the clinic.

The students who didn’t make the cut were really happy about learning new things and drills about football. They said they will try harder the next time.

The scout camp moves to Jind next on the 17th August’16, where the selection will take place at Christ Raja Convent School, Jind. The scouts anticipate that there will be a high talent influx here.

The clinic will start at 8 in the morning under the professional guidance of Delhi Dynamos & Indian Air Force coaches.

These clinics are open to all coaches and students to attend and on participation they will be presented with a completion certificate. Merchandise will be distributed to deserving participants. The best performing players at the clinics and matches will be shortlisted by the scouts.
