Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is not joining the coaching staff at German 2.Bundesliga side TSV 1860 Munich after all. The chaos surrounding 1860 Munich continues as for unknown reasons, the high profile manager is not coming to the club. The club in a statement said that after thinking about joining the club, Eriksson informed 1860 Munich that he is not joining the Bavarian side to be part of their coaching staff. The reason for Eriksson’s decision is unknown.
1860 Munich has been facing boardroom turmoil in recent months with the club’s Jordanian investor Hasan Ismaik asking to integrate Eriksson into the coaching team, which initially was not accepted by the club management amongst a number of demands that Ismaik made.
Though Ismaik demanded for Eriksson to get a role amongst the clubs coaching staff, it wasn’t clear what role the experienced Swede would take-up, be it manager, mentor or something else.
