The Aces picked up their first win fo the season against Pegasus FC

The Aces v Pegasus FC

Score: The Aces 6–0 Pegasus FC

Scorers

The Aces (Daakshya Deepankar 13’ (OG), Devanshu Sharma 25’,37’; Sai Mahesh 51’,57’; Hemanth Amar 54’)

The Aces picked up their first win of the campaign when they convincingly beat Pegasus FC in the opening game of the day. An own goal broke the deadlock early in the game when a deflection from Daakshya saw Aces take the lead in the 13th minute. The first half was evenly matched with Pegasus going toe to toe with their opponents even though they were a goal down but when Devanshu Sharma scored in the 25th minute for Aces, you could see the team was deflated.

The second half was much more one-sided with Aces in control of the game. Given that they had a two goal lead they slowed down the play and took their time with their plays. Devanshu scored one more to make it three before a late flurry of goals completely changed the scoreline in favour of The Aces.

Man of the Match Sai Mahesh scored in the 51st and 57th minute while in between those two goals Hemanth Amar added one to his name and deservedly so after a fine performance from the No. 10 Rahul PG and Manu in goals also had a good game for The Aces.

Pegasus have been shipping int goals and they need to completely revamp their defence as they look to stop the leakage. With 6 more games to go, they will have plenty of chances to score goals and pick up that elusive win but they need to have more practice sessions to get things right on game day. The Aces have moved out of the bottom three with this win and will be hoping to build on this win.

Man of the Match: Sai Mahesh (The Aces)

Rangers FC v United 4th Phase FC

Score: Rangers FC 1–7 United 4th Phase FC

Scorers

Rangers FC (Mohammed K 10’)

United 4th Phase FC (Altamesh Choudhary 18’, 35’, 53, 58’; Deepu D 26’, Multan Khan 51’, Shubham Gowda 59’)

United 4th Phase FC turned on the style in the second half to dismantle Rangers in the second game of the day. Earlier in the game, Rangers took the lead thanks to Mohammed K’s effort in the 10th minute. Rangers started the game strongly and just when it looked like they had turned a page by keeping possession and making smart plays, United 4th struck back through a bit of luck when Altamesh Choudhary scored in the 18th minute.

United 4th didn’t look back after that goal and went on to take the lead in the 26th minute when Deepu scored to ensure his side took the lead into half-time. The second half was lop-sided and Rangers lost all their composure when Altamesh scored the third goal for his side in the 35th minute. Altamesh has been in top form and is one of the leading candidates for the golden boot. Along with Multan Khan, they form a deadly attacking duo who can be stopped by very few teams.

Altamesh went on to score two more to take his tally to 4 for the game while Multan Khan added another in the 51st minute. Shubham Gowda put the final nail in the coffin when he got himself on the scoresheet in the 59th minute to round off a fine performance from United 4th.

This win was important to United 4th’s challenge for a promotion spot after having lost their last two games. Rangers once again failed to impress but the positive they can get take from this game is their first half performance, something they need to replicate more if they are to get wins.

Man of the Match: Altamesh Choudhary (United 4th Phase FC)

Dragons AFC v Brothers United

Score: Dragons AFC 2–0 Brothers United

Scorers

Dragons AFC (Daniel Fatoyet 8’, Ayodele O 37’)

Dragons made it back-to-back wins after defeating Brothers United in a close game. Daniel Fatoyet opened the scoring in the 8th minute to hand his side an early lead, something they never relinquished the entire match. Brothers were coming off two big wins scoring 17 goals in their previous two outing but failed to get on the score sheet in this game.

The game was evenly matched throughout the first half with both teams having chances. Brothers failed to capitalise on any of their chances. A second half strike from Ayodele O doubled Dragons lead, who were hell bent on keeping a clean sheet. A penalty was awarded to Brothers in the second half but they failed to convert it and give themselves a lifeline in the final quarter of the game. The usually efficient attacking duo of Sunil Belgaonkar and Alok Kumar were not in play given the latter’s absence for this match.

Dragons captain and keeper Danny Khumlo put in a good performance to help his side to back to back clean sheets while the team generally put in a solid overall performance. Brothers would be ruing the chances they were presented with in the game, which they failed to take advantage of and their mini-winning streak with clean sheets comes to and end with this loss, which also sends them down the table. Dragons now move into the top half of the table with this win.

Man of the Match: Daniel Fatoyet (Dragons AFC)

Score: Can-a-bees FC 0–7 Tornadoes FC

Scorers

Tornadoes FC (Mohammed Khaleel 5’, 21’, 42’, 50’; Ankith Reddy 36’, 45’, 53’)

Tornadoes romped home to a massive win against Can-a-bees scoring 7 past them. Mohammed Khaleel was once again the star of the show scoring 4 goals to take him to he top spot in the scoring charts. Ankith Reddy also scored a hat-trick and once again a wonder goal to add to his growing reputation.

Kahleel opened the scoring in the 5th minute after which Can-a-bees buckled upon on defence to play a more compact game. Nonetheless, Khaleel again found a way through firstly thanks to some defence-splitting passing and picked up his second for the day in the 21st minute.

Tornadoes took a two-goal lead into half-time and while Can-a-bees didn’t play too badly in the first half they were missing their usual oomph. Clinton Charles was once again the stand-out performer for Can-a-bees but with not much support up front he couldn’t alter the game single-handed.

The second was a different story altogether and the goals flowed in albeit it being only from one side – Tornadoes. Ankith Reddy scored his first in the 36th minute and got his hat trick in the 563rd minute while Khaleel picked up his hat trick in the 42nd minute before adding a fourth for himself in the 50th minute.

The final quarter of the game saw Can-a-bees run out of steam and let in goals which may come to bite them later on. This win sees Tornadoes move into fourth in the table while Can-a-bees slip into the relegation spots.

Man of the Match: Mohammed Kahleel (Tornadoes FC)

Kammanhattan All Stars v Simba Sports FC

Score: Kammanhattan All Star 1-3 Simba Sports FC

Scorers

Kammanhattan All Stars (Omar K 2’)

Simba Sports FC (Zuvundru Victor 4’; Emmanuel Foli 50’, 59’)

The match of the day saw Simba Sports out-manoeuvre their way around a strong Kammanhattan side that fell to their first loss. Kammanhattan took the lead in the 2nd minute thanks to a quick-fire move that saw Omar break the deadlock. Simba responded almost immediately with Zuvundru getting on the scoresheet two minutes later to tie up the scores.

The match was played out at in a high-intensity fashion with both teams pressing and counter-attacking as much as possible. The game went into half-time at level pegging, which was probably the fairest result.

The second half was a different story with Simba altering their tactics to take the game to Kammanhattan and initially, the Kammanhattan defence was strong enough to hold them off but the game ticked on both sides wanted that elusive winner and tons of pockets of spaces opened. Simba were the ones to take full advantage of the situation and a long ball to Emmanuel Foli saw him cut inside in the box to score the second goal for his side.

Kammanhattan went in search of the winner and came extremely close to finding the equaliser but Lucas Ndjoli missed from point blank range and with that miss, the result was decided. Simba added a third in the dying minutes of the game to seal the result but the score line was more lopsided than what the game actually was. Simba maintain their lead at the top of the table with this win while Kammanhattan also stay in third but have now lost a big foothold in the title race to a rival.

Man of the Match: Emmanuel Foli (Simba Sports FC)

Bangalore City FC B v Royal Eagles FC

Score: Bangalore City FC B 3–0 Royal Eagles FC

Scorers

Bangalore City FC B (Worthem B 14’, Abdhul Kamali 39’, Papi Keita 44’)

The final game of the day saw Bangalore City FC B come out on top against Royal Eagles. BCFC were favourites going into the game but Royal Eagles put on a defensive show to stop their opponents. Playing an extremely defensive formation with 5 in the back, the trick almost worked when Worthem B got on the scoresheet in the first half to give his side a breather.

Second half goals from Abdhul Kamali and Papi Keita sealed the deal for Bangalore City FC B. Royal Eagles must take positives from the game, especially in their first half performance which saw them carry out the tactics almost to perfection. BCFC were missing their usual oomph with Papi Keita cutting a lonely figure at the top but others stepped up to make sure they stay on track with league leaders Simba Sports.

Bangalore City FC are currently in second place and not only trail the league leaders on goal difference but given the competitiveness of the division, they need to be at their best if they are pick up the title like their counterparts. Royal Eagles have improved game on game and have shown that practice time together can really boost a squad’s strength.

Man of the Match: Worthem B (Bangalore City FC B)
