The new Premier League season has well and truly gotten underway with the first of the international breaks coming this week. While no EPL is always a let down it gives us an excellent opportunity to recap the first three weeks and take a quick insight on what teams found the best buys of the offseason.

The 2018 summer in the English Premier League was a massive one with roughly 150 transfers made including loan deals, it also saw the record for most expensive goalkeeper broken twice in one window and saw countless teams strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. But now after the first few gameweeks, we take a look back to see which team made the best business or the summer.

#3 Jorginho

The Italian centre mid secured his £57.4 million deal to link back up with former Napoli manager Sarri in the premier league.

Jorginho has become a vital part or Chelsea's stunning start to the current season as they've currently won every game including a hard fought win over London rivals Arsenal. Sitting second on the ladder, Jorginho has run the midfield alongside Kante and has racked up the most passes of any player in the Premier League so far with 418 average roughly 108 per game.

With one goal and an impressive 92% passing accuracy to his name Jorginho has shown to be well worth the money spent by Chelsea and could lead them to a title in his first season.

#2 Aleksandar Mitrovic

The 23-year-old Serbian has been a top signing for the newly promoted club as he secured a 5 year deal for a fee rumoured to be around £22 million.

Mitrovic originally signed on through a loan deal on deadline day in January and went on to have a huge impact in Fulham's promotion to the Premier League. After scoring 12 goals in 17 games last season for Fulham, Mitrovic has again hit the ground running as he currently leads the golden boot race with four goals in the same amount of games.

Fulham's excellent start to their premier league campaign is largely down to the main man up front and if they are to look to remain safe from relegation they'll be praying the young Serbian can continue to fire.

#1 Matteo Guendouzi

Guendouzi has without a doubt been the shining star in what otherwise could seem to be a lacklustre start to the season for Arsenal. Losses to top six rivals Chelsea and Manchester City in the first two weeks would have had Arsenal fans stressing if it wasn't for the rise of Matteo Guendouzi.

Signing from French league two side Lorient for an undisclosed fee, you would be forgiven if you were to say you had never heard of him when he was signed by the North London powerhouse. He has fast become the linchpin in Arsenal's midfield and seeming as though he can develop into the central midfielder Arsenal fans have been dreaming about ever since the departure of Vierra all those years ago.

The second division of French football is showing great promise as other premier league stars such as Mahrez and Kante are both famous for coming out of nowhere to win the title with Leicester. If Guendouzi continues these excellent performances with Arsenal he can expect a big pay rise in his near future.
