Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal - Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur

The North London side have managed to score 1437 goals in the Premier League. What is ironic is that they are also the club that have conceded the most goals in the history of the competition - 1249.

Finishing second last season and third the season before that, the Spurs managed to put up a fantastic campaign, but have fallen short on both occasions. Producing some of the finest players of the generation such as Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Harry Kane, Tottenham have been a force to reckon with in the Premier League. The trophy however has seemed to have alluded them forever as they have yet to win it even once.

Being the only non-league club to have ever won the FA Cup and being the 4th most successful in the competition, Spurs have managed to leave their mark in FA Cup history, and seem to be capable of winning their first Premier League title soon.

The famous night in Istanbul

Recently dethroned as the most successful club in England, Liverpool have been a force to reckon with in England and across Europe. With 5 Champions League trophies to their name, the Merseyside club are the third most successful club when it comes to Europe's most elite competition. With 18 Premier League titles, Liverpool is only second to Manchester United in the United Kingdom's all time records.

Winning the Football League Cup a record 8 times, Liverpool's history gives them a slot in the top 5 or 10 clubs of all time. Their recent form however had reduced them to become a shadow of their earlier self. The club has been unable to win a league title since the 1989-90 season.

The Liverpool side boast some fantastic talent and breathtaking pace, with the likes of the Brazilian duo Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho and of course the wingers, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. The Reds have managed to score an obscene 116 goals in the last 56 matches and have been lethal in attack. Their defense however has let them down, as they have conceded 62 goals in 56 games.

The Anfield side will have to strengthen their defense in order to win their first league title in 27 years, and add to their tally of 1639 goals.

Antonio Conte's men make it 2 in 3 years.

The last English club to lift the European Cup, Chelsea F.C. are relatively new to the game. The club has won a mere 6 English League titles, however 5 of them have come in this century. Dominating modern-day English football, Chelsea has been extremely successful in the last couple of decades.

Scoring 1,677 goals, Chelsea have had some breath taking players such as Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard and Gianfranco Zola. Winning the league twice in the last 3 years, Chelsea seem to be the best club in the competition at the moment.

Chelsea sits third in the list of the highest scoring Premier League sides, but are only about 50 goals ahead of Liverpool who look very likely to overtake Chelsea in the eternal race.

Glory days

With 1729 goals, Arsene Wenger's men arrive in second place. The North London side has 13 Premier League titles under its belt, but the last time they lifted the trophy was, ironically, 13 years ago.

The Gunners have failed to achieve Premier League success for years together, and suffered a major set back when their star man Robin Van Persie moved to United. Arsenal fans all over the world have been infuriated by their club's recent form and expect more from a club of this stature.

The Gunners however have managed to win the FA Cup thrice in last 4 seasons and have won the trophy a record 13 times. Defeating Chelsea in both the FA Cup and the Community Shield final, the North London side began the season with promise. A few months later however, they seem to be out of the title race and once again fighting for a Champions League spot. The Gunners seemed to be in a crisis as both their star players Ozil and Sanchez have not renewed their contracts.

Historically, Arsenal has produced some of the finest in the game and even given the world the famous invincibles that went an entire league season undefeated. Thierry Henry and Patrick Vierra were some of the great players that have represented this badge and scored phenomenol goals on the pitch.

The fact that they are the 2nd highest scoring team in the league shows what they are capable of and how they have the potential to turn things around.

#1 Manchester United - 1895 goals

Sir Alex Ferguson with England's most coveted title.

The most successful club in the nation with a record 20 Premier League titles tops the list with 1895 goals. With 7 titles in this century itself, United has been able to outclass their rivals, Liverpool.

With the likes of Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, United have been the most dominant club in England in history and in recent years. The Ferguson-Era saw United crush opposition teams and play some breathtaking football, even winning the Champions League in 2008. The Red Devils won their first treble in 2008, as they beat Chelsea on penalties in the final.

Ever since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, United has seen a downfall. With the sacking of David Moyes and then Van Gaal, United seemed to have been lost in recent years. Even after the appointment of Jose Mourinho, United managed to finish only fifth on the table last season. Hopefully the club can find its momentum and go back to being one of the best in the game.
