There are a number of extremely talented players in the Premier League today, including unbelievable strikers who are consistently performing at the top of their game.

Players like Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Bournemouth’s Jermain Defoe have proved their worth time and time again with their goal scoring abilities.

A good striker is truly worth their weight in gold since they are so rare in the game. It seems that some players have a natural talent and instinct when it comes to netting goals.

The aim of every goal scorer is usually to score the most goals in a single season – besides, of course, helping their team win at all costs. With that in mind, there have been a number of players in the Premier League specifically who have gone on to score hundreds of goals in their career.

Let us look at the top five Premier League goal scorers of all time.


#5 Thierry Henry

The French striker made his mark on the beautiful game in the early 2000s by scoring 175 goals during his time playing for Arsenal, scoring at a rate of 0.68 goals per match.

Henry won the Golden Boot a staggering four times; in the 2001-02, 2003-04, 2004-05, and 2005-06 seasons.

The English international midfielder had a wonderful career playing for Chelsea – scoring an impressive 177 goals from his position in the middle of the park. Lampard additionally has the third-highest number of appearances in the Premier League with 609 to his name.

Although Shearer only won the Premier League title once, he claimed the Golden Boot three consecutive times in the 1994-95, 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons.
