#5. Alisson Becker

Liverpool FC v Manchester United - Premier League
Liverpool FC v Manchester United - Premier League

Alisson Becker was signed by Liverpool in a bid to put an end to its goalkeeping woes. In recent history all of Liverpool's keepers have been average or a little above average. With Klopp reforming and restructuring this side he needed to strengthen every position and for that he needed a world class player between the sticks as well.

With the disastrous performance Karius put forward in the UCL final it was clear that Liverpool needed a world class goalkeeper to be reckoned as a force in Europe and that is when they resorted to secure the services of Alisson Becker from AS Roma for a staggering £56 million.

With Alisson being Liverpool's first choice this season Liverpool now have a world class squad which can compete for all the trophies. Despite the howler against Manchester United last week he has been important to Liverpool's success until now as they top the EPL table currently.

Alisson has successfully kept 10 clean sheets in 17 appearances in PL and conceded only 7 goals. He has even managed to get 2 clean sheets in the UCL as well and made a vital save against Napoli last week to ensure Liverpool a spot in the RO16 of the UCL.

#4. Paco Alcácer

Borussia Dortmund v SV Werder Bremen - Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund v SV Werder Bremen - Bundesliga

Francisco Alcácer left FC Barcelona in search of some minutes after being on the bench for the majority of games while he was in Barcelona. His departure this season was not surprising for Barcelona supporters as he was keen on showing his capabilities but his opportunities were always limited due to the presence Luis Suarez, who is one of the best strikers in the world currently.

Paco made a switch from FC Barcelona to Borussia Dortmund on loan with Dortmund having an option to buy the striker. The Spaniard has featured in 10 Bundesliga games this season and has been able to score 11 goals so far. Paco is leading the goal scoring charts ahead of players like Robert Lewandowski, Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard and many more despite of playing far less than them.

Paco having impressed the Dortmund board saw his loan move made permanent last month. His impressive performances even caught the eye of Luis Enrique as well which saw him being called up for the Spanish international duty .

Paco has been instrumental in Dortmund's performances as he has rescued his side number of times coming on from the bench as a super sub as Dortmund now sit at top of the table with a healthy 9 points lead over Bayern Munich.

#3. João Cancelo

Joao Cancelo made a switch from Valencia this summer to the reigning Serie A champions, Juventus. Juventus made the move after being impressed by his performances for Inter Milan while he was on loan from Valencia.

The Portuguese right back has brought flair to this Juventus side and is not afraid of making darting runs down the flank or take on players .Cancelo is an absolute workhorse who has a perfect balance of attack and defense. The Portuguese international has featured in 12 games for the Old Lady in Serie A and has set up 2 goals.

Cancelo has been putting in great performances week in week out and has been quite versatile as well, as we have seen him play as a left back too this season. Cancelo along with Cristiano Ronaldo have been the best and the most consistent players for Juventus this season.

#2. Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira made a switch from Sampdoria to play in the Premier League for Arsenal. Lucas, after a sensational World Cup campaign for Uruguay was Arsenal's priority transfer target. Torreira has quickly become a fan favorite at the Emirates Stadium this season under new Gunners manager Unai Emery. The north Londoners had been on a run of 14 Premier League games without defeat before losing 3-2 to Southampton at St. Mary’s this weekend .

Torreira moved to Arsenal this summer for £26.4 million from Serie A side Sampdoria. The Uruguayan international struggled to make his way into the starting eleven initially but since then, Torreira has gone on to establish himself in the Arsenal starting XI and he has made 17 appearances in Premier League for Arsenal. The midfielder is the complete package who can dictate play, score, assist and even adds physicality.

He scored his first goal against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. His second goal came late against Huddersfield where he rescued complete 3 points for Arsenal with a brilliant acrobatic goal. He has even set up 2 goals. The Uruguayan has won hearts all over with some even naming him signing of the season as well.

#1. Cristiano Ronaldo

This transfer had set the entire transfer market on fire. No one could firstly believe the rumors of Ronaldo moving to Turin but when it actually happened it left everyone stunned and a lot of Madridistas in sorrow and disbelief. But Madrid's loss was Juventus' gain. Juventus sensationally signed Real Madrid's star attraction after paying over $100 million for a 33-year-old.

The Old Lady are desperately looking for UCL success and who'd be better than Cristiano to end this run? Juventus has had close calls in recent Champions League runs, but it was always lacking the game breaking finisher to tilt the scales. Nobody has been as lethal in the Champions League's history as Ronaldo, and Juventus firmly believe that those aging legs still have plenty of goals in them .

Cristiano had a slow start to life in Italy but has now picked up pace and since then has been on a goal scoring spree. In his 16 appearances in Serie A he has garnered 11 goals and 5 assists to his name and in the UEFA Champions league he has scored once and assisted twice in 5 appearances.

So far Cristiano has been the best signing of the summer transfer window as he has adapted to the league in such a short notice as he leads the goal scoring charts in Italy.
