We are already past the halfway mark of the 2018/19 season of the Premier League and by now, we tend to know how every new signing has fared for their respective clubs.

Right now, with the amount of money flowing in the Premier League, we are bound to see more failed signings than good ones. But, we have seen some very good and astute signings this season, both from the top 6 clubs and the mid-table sides.

So, without further ado, here are the top 5 summer signings of the Premier League this season:

#5 Raul Jimenez

Everton FC v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League

Raul Jimenez was signed by Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan from Benfica in the summer. Jimenez has looked absolutely brilliant this season but remains criminally underrated. All the limelight in the Wolves' lineup has been taken by players like Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and co., while Jimenez has remained indispensable to Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

His hold-up play has been tremendous at times and much like Roberto Firmino of Liverpool, Jimenez likes to come deep and be involved in the play. His overall gameplay is what makes Wolves tick in attack and it has been his brilliant play with the ball at feet that has made Wolves such a dangerous counter-attacking side.

The kind of form he is in and the way he is playing this season, it would not be a surprise to see Wolves making the signing permanent.

In terms of stats in the Premier League this season, Jimenez has scored 10 goals and assisted 5. He averages a goal every 221 minutes.

#4 Fabinho

Fabinho was signed by Liverpool from Monaco for a fee of about 45 million Euros. At the start of the season, he wasn't getting much game time but that has changed now that he has adapted to the Premier League. He is playing well and right now seems to be a brilliant signing by Jurgen Klopp.

Fabinho is a very versatile player who can play in many positions. He can play right back, center back and anywhere in the midfield and that is what makes him very important for Liverpool. He has similar attributes to Jordan Henderson as he also breaks up play, controls the tempo of the game and has an eye for a pass. With age on the side of the Brazilian, he will only get better for Liverpool.

In terms of stats in the Premier League this season, Fabinho has scored 1 goal and assisted 2. He averages 87 touches per game and a passing accuracy of 85 percent. He has won 59 percent of his duels.

#3 David Brooks

AFC Bournemouth v Chelsea FC - Premier League

David Brooks was signed by Bournemouth from Sheffield United for 10 million Euros. This signing just tells you how good Bournemouth's transfer structure is. For 10 million, Brooks looks like a steal as he has been nothing short of brilliant for the Cherries.

Brooks came up from the Championship and it felt like he would take some time to gel, but he didn't need any as he hit the ground running. Right now, he is a very important part of Eddie Howe's fluent attacking style at Bournemouth.

The 21-year-old has become Bournemouth's chief creator and is one of the reasons why the Cherries have been so entertaining to watch this season.

In terms of stats in the Premier League this season, Brooks has scored 6 goals and assisted 4. He averages 51 touches per game and has a passing accuracy of 72 percent.

#2 Lucas Torreira

Arsenal FC v Southampton FC - Premier League

Lucas Torreira was signed by Arsenal from Sampdoria for a fee of 26 million Euros. This signing has also turned out to be an absolute bargain as the little Uruguayan has been one of Arsenal's best players and one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League. He has settled into the Premier League very well and is just the kind of midfielder that Arsenal were crying out for at the start of the season.

The 23-year-old has been giving his teammates a lesson in energy and tenacity. His forward passing, tacking and aggressive nature have made him a fan favourite at the Emirates. The Uruguayan has fit seamlessly into Unai Emery's system at Arsenal and with the kind of start he has had to his Arsenal career, who knows what he can go on to do for the club.

In terms of stats in the Premier League this season, Torreira has scored 2 goals and assisted 2. He averages 79 touches per game and has a passing accuracy of 88 percent. He has won 61 percent of his duels.

#1 Alisson Becker

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Liverpool FC - Premier League

Alisson Becker was signed by Liverpool from Roma for a fee of about 67 million Euros. The Brazilian arrived at Anfield with very high expectations and so far he has justified both, his price tag and the hype. He has been fantastic for Liverpool this season.

The Brazilian has kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season. Although he has made a couple of mistakes, noticeably against Leicester City and Manchester United, those can be forgiven simply due to the kinds of stops he has been making every now and then for the Reds.

In terms of stats in the Premier League this season, Alisson has made 56 saves and kept 15 clean sheets. He averages 2.1 saves every game and has conceded 0.56 goals per game.
