Tottenham Hotspur renews partnership with Team India at 2011 Homeless World Cup

Tottenham Hotspur FC have renewed their partnership with the Indian team at the forthcoming Paris 2011 Homeless World Cup.

The Spurs will continue their support for Krida Vikas Sanstha Nagpur (KVSN), the Homeless World Cup partner organisation in India, while financing two Indian teams to attend the tournament next month. The EPL side did already sponsor the Indian team at the previous Homeless World Cup’s in Milan (2009) and Rio de Janeiro (2010).

We are pleased to be continuing our support for the Team India and the Homeless World Cup through our long-term partners KVSN and the Slum Soccer programme,” Charlie Wijernatra, Tottenham Hotspur Executive Director, stated in an official release by the club.

The tournament has been hugely successful in helping to provide opportunities for homeless people from all over the world and we are delighted to be a part of that,” Wijernatra added.

Professor Vijay Barse, founder of KVSN, added: “This is fantastic news for us. The association with Tottenham Hotspur will also give us access to their sporting and commercial expertise, and bring inspiration not just to our World Cup team but to all those in India who are finding hope for the future through football.”

This year’s competition will take place on the Champs des Mars, Paris (France) from August 21 to 28.
