Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up. Today’s gossip world has Arsenal being linked with a Manchester United player while Chelsea get linked with yet another Serie A defender.
Meanwhile Riyad Mahrez’s transfer to Arsenal has taken a new turn with Chelsea coming in to the picture right at the very end. Whereas there are still no concrete reports on Paul Pogba’s impending move to Manchester United.
On that note, here are the transfer news and rumours doing the rounds on July 25th.
Serie A
- Talks are underway between Napoli and Inter Milan over a potential summer transfer for Mauro Icardi. Sky Italia are reporting a €50m offer for Argentine striker which is likely to be turned down by Inter as they are eager to keep hold of their skipper.
- Frank De Boer continues to get linked with the Inter Milan job despite Roberto Mancini in charge at San Siro. Mancini is under extreme pressure after De Boer recently dubbed Inter as a great team.
- AC Milan are nearing a deal to sign Juan Cuadrado. According to reports from Gazzetta, Cuadrado’s agent is set to fly to London tonight to hold talks over €30m transfer for the Colombian star.
Bundesliga
- Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has said that the club have no intention of selling Max Meyer to Liverpool or any other club this summer. According to Bild, Meyer is seen as club’s future and he will not be sold regardless of the offer submitted for him.
- According to AS, Hoffenheim forward Eduardo Vargas is keen on a new challenge and would be open to being reunited with new Sevilla boss and former Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli.
- Julian Draxler’s future at Wolfsburg is under doubt after Bild confirmed that Arsenal have sent chief deal maker Dick Law to negotiate a transfer to bring the German international to Emirates this summer.
Premier League
- Chelsea are in pole position to sign Riyad Mahrez in a €50m deal after Adidas accidentally released Mahrez’s Chelsea kit online with the number 7 printed on its back. Arsenal were leading the race for Mahrez but Chelsea have stolen a march in last 25 hours and are expected to announce the deal later this week.
- Arsenal meanwhile are linked with a shocking move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial. Gunners have seen their odds of signing the French drop to 11/2 from 9/1 after the French striker was snubbed from the number 9 jersey which was handed to Zlatan Ibrahimovic against his wish.
- Chelsea are now linked with Lazio’s central defender Stefan de Vrij, according to reports from Football Italia. De Vrij is valued at €15m which has got Chelsea interesed after being priced out of a deal for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
La Liga
- Kevin Gameiro has agreed a move to Barcelona, according to reports from Marca. Although talks are still ongoing and Atletico Madrid are also contemplating a bid for the Sevilla striker.
- Barcelona are linked with the experienced Benfica striker Jonas. As per the reports from Globoesporte, Barca are tracking the 32-year-old striker’s progress and are interested in making an official bid. Jonas scored 32 goals in 34 appearances last season and fired Benfica to the league title.
- Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has once again expressed his fondness for Real Madrid after the Dortmund striker confirmed that he would only quit Signal Iduna Park for Real Madrid and not any other club.
Rest of Europe
- Sunderland are keen on signing Adnan Januzaj and Will Keane as David Moyes begins to recruit players ahead of next season. According to Northern Echo, both the deals could be completed later this week.
- Aston Villa have joined both Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in showing an interest in signing Nantes striker Yacine Bammou, according to a report from L’equipe.
- Bordeaux want to sign full back Mathieu Debuchy on a permanent contract from Arsenal, according to reports from Le Parisien. Debuchy joined the Ligue 1 side last season and is keen to extend his stay in France.
