Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up. Chelsea getting on with their squad clear out while Manchester United are linked with a new central defensive option.

Elsewhere Chelsea have offered €80million to Everton for Romelu Lukaku with news becoming more concrete in next few days.

On that note, here are the transfer news and rumours doing the rounds on July 31st.


Serie A

- Napoli are ready to increase their bid for Gent midfielder Sven Kums. They had an offer of €6m rejected last week. According to reports from Calcio Mercato, Serie A side are stressing on a midfield signing with Kums being priority target.

- Inter have made enquiries to Chelsea about Brazilian midfielder Oscar, according to Football Italia. According to Di Marzio, both Oscar and Antonio Candreva could make a move to San Siro in coming weeks.

- Greek side PAOK are interested in Alessandro Matri, but the AC Milan striker wants to stay in Serie A. Striker had joined from Juventus in 2013 for €11m but has not been able to establish himself as a regular player for the Rossoneris.

- Schalke have signed Sevilla right-back and captain Coke. According to Kicker, Coke cost around €4million and signed a contract after a successful medical.

- Liverpool are expected to go back with a bid for FC Koln left back Jonas Hector. The Reds were linked with Hector earlier this summer but the price tag was seen as the major distraction. The player is keen on the opportunity to work with Jugen Klopp this summer.

- Stoke City are linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen centre back Kyriakos Papadopoulos, according to local newspaper Stoke Sentinel. Kyriakos signed a fresh 5-year contract with Leverkusen and is likely to cost Stoke in the region of £12 million.

- According to M.E.N, Leroy Sane is undegoing his medical with Manchester City and is expected to be revealed as Pep Guardiola’s third summer signing in next couple of hours.

- Chelsea are set to make a move for PSV’s full-back Santiago Arias to replace Baba Rahman, who is on the brink of a loan move to Schalke. According to Daily Mail, Chelsea have scouted Arias in recent months with Blues ready to make an official bid soon.

- Manchester United are on the lookout for a new central defender and Jose Fonte has emerge has the potential target for Jose Mourinho this summer. According to reports from Express, Mourinho wants an experienced defender in his squad who can be easily benched.

- Zinedine Zidane has refused to let go off Alvaro Morata this summer. Speaking after the win over Chelsea, Zidane said: “He’s a Madrid player, we’re delighted with him. We are delighted to have him back, back to his original home. He will remain a Madrid player.”

- Barcelona have been left frustrated after Juventus have refused to sell Mario Mandzukic to the Catalan giants. Juve have already lost Morata and accoding to Gazzetta, Serie A Champions are not keen on letting Mandzukic leave.

- Real Sociedad have announced the signing of former Las Palmas striker Willian Jose on a five-year contract in the wake of Jonathas’ departure to Rubin Kazan.

Rest of Europe

- PSG have held talks with Real Madrid over the potential transfer of striker Jese Rodriguez this summer, according to Le10 Sport. West Ham are also linked with the Spaniard forward.

- Newcastle United are expected to make a £10million bid for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Anthony Knockaert in coming days, according to The Tribune. Magpies saw their initial bid rejected by the Championship side.

- Aston Villa are offering Rudy Gestede as a makeweight to try and sign Hull City’s Abel Hernandez according to a report from The Times.
