Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up. Real Madrid are fighting to bring two midfielders to Bernabeu this summer after losing out on Paul Pogba to Manchester United.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and AS Roma are battling to sign Barcelona’s Thomas Vermaelen this summer while Carlos Bacca has a new destination ahead of him.

On that note, here are the transfer news and rumours doing the rounds on August 5th.

Serie A

- AC Milan have announced the signing of Paraguayan Gustavo Gomez. The defender arrives at San Siro on an initial year-long loan deal with an option of buying him next summer.

- Juan Cuadrado and Simone Zaza are back on the transfer radar of AC Milan. According to Di Marzio, Milan have set aside a €25m budget for the duo and are fighting against Inter Milan to bring Zaza and Cuadrado to San Siro.

- Inter Milan could make a shock bid for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca if Mauro Icardi leaves this summer. According to Football Italia, Icardi is due to meet Arsenal this weekend and could agree a €46million deal. Inter are keeping their options open and are eyeing a move for Bacca.

Could Real Madrid sign David Alaba?

- According to the Bild, Bayern Munich have turned down a £55m bid from Real Madrid for David Alaba. Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is keen on signing the Austrian International as a multi-functional player who can operate as a left full back as well as a holding midfield player.

- Liverpool youngster Allan Rodrigues is nearing a loan deal to join Hertha Berlin. According to Bild, the Brazilian was signed by the Reds last summer but is unable to play for Jurgen Klopp due to work permit issues.

- Tuttosport are reporting that Schalke 04 have agreed terms with Juventus midfielder Mario Lamina. Stoke City were linked with a move for Lamina but Schalke have walked away with the deal by paying more than the Potters.

Premier League

- Arsenal have reportedly made a bid to sign Torino’s defender Bruno Peres in a deal close to 16m, as reported by London Evening Stanard. Gunners eye Peres as an ideal back-up option for Hector Bellerin.

- Chelsea have had a £25m bid for Shkodran Mustafi rejected by Valencia, according to Spanish newspaper AS. Arsenal are also linked with Mustafi with his agent rumoured to be in London this week to discuss a move for the German International.

- Chelsea are linked with a surprise move for Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Eduardo. Portuguese outlet A Bola are convinced of a last-minute approach from the Blues which could see the deal get completed as early as this weekend.

La Liga

Vermaelen could be packing his bags once again

- Manchester City are linked with a move for Pablo Mari from Spanish second division side Gimnastic. AS are reporting the story where Pep Guardiola is keen on bringing the 22-year-old after being advised by his scouting team.

- According to Il Messaggero, AS Roma could sign Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen for a reported €4m fee. The Belgian International is surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou and is linked with the Serie A side. Roma are looking to bring a replacement for Kostas Manolas who could move to Premier League this summer.

- Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Nemanja Matic in a reported €34m deal. According to Marca, Zidane wants Matic but Florentino Perez is keen on signing Moussa Sissoko. Both players are valued in the region of €35m.

Rest of Europe

- According to La Provence, Tottenham have a €13m deal agreed for Georges-Kevin N’Koudou with the player expected to join the White Hart Lane outfit in coming few days. As per the reports, the player is in London and waiting to finalize his move from Marseille.

- Marseille want to finalise the arrival of Henri Saivet from Newcastle United before the new Ligue 1 season kicks off, as per the reports from La Provence.

- According to A Bola, Yacine Brahimi is a target for West Ham, PSG, Everton and Liverpool. The player is valued at €25-30m and is keen to quit FC Porto this summer.
