Chelsea got back to winning ways after thrashing Huddersfield 5-0 in the Premier League on Saturday evening. The Blues put up a dominant performance and gave their opponents no chance from the blast of the whistle.

Having been annihilated 4-0 at the hands of Bournemouth in midweek, there was the need for a reaction from Maurizio Sarri’s men. And it came in emphatic fashion, as new signing Gonzalo Higuain led the demolition of Huddersfield.

Doubles from the former Napoli forward and Eden Hazard, as well as another from David Luiz was enough to hand the Blues a five-star victory.

The Argentine striker was brought in on loan from AC Milan during the January transfer window and he needed very little time to announce himself to the Stamford Bridge crowd with a well-taken opener. A swift through ball from N’Golo Kante was followed by a fierce shot from Higuain to put Chelsea in the lead.

The Blues doubled their lead towards the end of the first half – Eden Hazard scoring from the penalty after Cesar Azpilicueta had been brought down. Chelsea continued to dominate in the second half but had to wait till the 66th minute to make it 3-0. Hazard scoring his second of the afternoon.

Three minutes later, Higuain also scored his second of the game to make it 4-0 to the Blues. The scoring was completed in the 86th minute when Luiz scored Chelsea’s fifth. The result meant Sarri’s men move back to fourth on the Premier League table, three points ahead of Arsenal and five ahead of Manchester United. However, both Arsenal and Man United are yet to play.

The score line may have been emphatic but Higuain’s double appears to also have excited a lot of football fans. Many have since taken to Twitter to give their opinions on the game and the striker’s performance.
