It was a welcome victory for the Blues as they beat Huddersfield Town 5-0 in their Premier League fixture at the Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's latest recruitment Gonzalo Higuain gave the Londoners the lead by scoring his first goal for the club in the 16th minute of the game. Eden Hazard increased the Blues' advantage to two goals by successfully converting the penalty kick just minutes before the half.

The Londoners started the second half with the same attacking approach and scored two goals in three minutes through Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard to go four up. David Luiz made things worse for the Terriers, by scoring his team's fifth goal four minutes before the final whistle.

Maurizio Sarri's team enjoyed 65% of possession during the game and had 23 shots on goal as compared to the Terriers' 5.

Chelsea are currently fourth on the Premier League table, 11 points behind the leaders Liverpool. Their primary objective this term is to finish in the Champions League qualification places, but they face tough competition from Manchester United and Arsenal.

They will play the defending champions Manchester City next in the league before making a trip to Sweden to play Malmo FF for the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round-of-32 match.

On the other hand, Huddersfield town are struggling in the league and are at the bottom of the Premier League table. Last month, David Wagner left the clubs as the manager and Jan Siewert was appointed as the new manager of the club.

They next host Arsenal at the John Smith's Stadium next week before playing Newcastle United at St. James' Park on February 23.
