The Premier League title race has started to become more intense as West Ham United held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in their league fixture at the London Stadium.

Sadio Mane converted James Milner's cross from the right to give Liverpool the lead in the 22nd minute of the game. However, their lead did not last for long as Micheal Antonio superbly converted a well-worked free kick to equalize the scoreline during the 28th minute of the game.

Jurgen Klopp's team tried to clinch the all three points during the second half of the game and created a number of opportunities to trouble the Londoners' defence. However, their backline stood firm and worked hard collectively to earn a vital point.

Liverpool enjoyed 74% of possession during the game. However, it was West Ham who had more shots on goal (13 shots) on goal as compared to the Reds (11 shots).

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table but are now just three points clear of their closest rivals, Manchester City. They have not won the league title since 1990 but are the favourites to end the long drought this season.

They next play Bournemouth in the league before hosting Bayern Munich at Anfield for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 fixture on February 20.

On the other hand, West Ham United are currently 12th on the Premier League table, 10 points clear of the relegation zone. They started out their season in the worst possible manner, with 3 defeats out of 3, but have found the rhythm through the course of the season.

They play their city rival, Crystal Palace next in the league before hosting Fulham at the London Stadium on February 23.

Football fans reacted to Liverpool's draw on Twitter and here are some of the best tweets.
