Champions League last 15 draw out!

The draw for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League has finally been done, and there are some mouth-watering fixtures to be expected.

Monday noon saw fans of the various European teams wait with bated breath to find out their opponents in the next stage of Europe’s elite club competition. In the end, some teams had favourable draws while other were handed pretty tricky tests.

Among the former are Barcelona and Manchester City, who drew Lyon and Schalke 04 respectively. Fans of Real Madrid will also breathe a huge sigh of relief as Los Blancos have been paired with Dutch side Ajax.

The same cannot be said for Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United, who would have to go through Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-German. After losing 3-1 to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, this is certainly not the best of news for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, there are also some big fixtures to look out for in this year’s Champions League round of 16. For instance, Atletico Madrid takes on Cristiano Ronaldo and his Juventus, with Tottenham also drawing high-flying Borussia Dortmund.

The biggest fixture of the round is definitely the game between Liverpool and Bayern Munich. Both teams share a host of Champions League titles and have great history in the competition. Meanwhile, Roma and Porto complete the fixtures for the last 16 draw.

While the draw was fair and exciting for most, the same cannot be said for fans of some of the European giants. Social media has, therefore, been buzzing with comments and opinions in the wake of the Champions League draw.

While some fans are happy for a favourable draw, others are also simply not enthused with the pairings for their clubs. Throw in the trolls, and Twitter is all lit up.
