As fans may already know, Fortnite safes reward players with Gold Bars. Looking at the sheer number of Exotic items that are currently available in the video game, it's no surprise that the developers have retained safes in Fortnite.

Back in Chapter 2 Season 5, Epic Games introduced gold bars to Fortnite Battle Royale. At the same time, they added new items and services that could be purchased with Gold Bars, such as Exotic weapons.

Since then, Gold Bars and Exotic weapons have remained in the game. Unfortunately, many players struggle to obtain Gold Bars as bounties are the primary source of obtaining them. As a result, Epic has added several safes that contain Gold Bars and can be opened by anyone.

Safes are now back in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 and can be found in almost every part of the map.

As you can see in the image above, there are numerous safes scattered all over the island. They can be found in almost every Named Location and Landmark, making them very useful for players who enjoy purchasing items and services with Gold Bars.

Popular spots such as Mega City and Pleasant Passage boast multiple safes for players to access. However, no location has more Fortnite safes than Brutal Bastion. This Named Location has a total of 11 safes, with three of them located in the center of the map.

It must be noted that this location is extremely dangerous as it's a major hotspot for combat and early landings. In addition to the safes, Brutal Bastion has many chests as well, which is exactly why it's so popular.

Opening Fortnite safes is an extremely easy task once you locate them. You simply need to get close to them and hold down the Interact button. In a few seconds, you will receive Gold Bars from the safe.

Interestingly, the process of opening safes takes longer than opening chests. If you have your teammates nearby, you can ask them to help you out as they can make the process much faster by interacting with the safe at the same time.
