Bossa Studios releases first look gameplay trailer for Worlds Adrift

Worlds Adrift will also feature a multiplayer mode

Bossa Studios has released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open-world adventure title World’s Adrift. Originally announced in December last year, World’s Adrift is a unique looking PC game from the indie company responsible for developing titles like ‘Surgeon Simulator’ and ‘I Am Bread’. The first look gameplay video reveals some interesting details of the upcoming adventure game. The trailer showcases the game's day/night cycle, which will change how the games environment will feel and play.

“You’ll see in the video the day/night cycle gives the environment a different feel during the day and compared with the night. The game will also definitely play differently depending on the time of day.”

Players will also possess a cool “multitool” that will allow them to perform a ton of tasks such as harvesting, crafting, repairing, without constantly having to change tools. Besides this, Worlds Adrift will also feature multiplayer support where players can use their crossbows to attack each other. Bossa Studios have revealed that these arrow projectiles will "even behave like real physics objects!"

According to Bossa’s development blog, the environments seen in the trailer are just placeholders, but they will be designing the world with low poly counts and flat colours.

"One thing that's always been really important to the vision of the game is the atmosphere. Lots of things contribute to how you feel when you’re in a game, but perhaps none more than the art style. Besides stylizing everything with low poly counts and flat colors, we're trying to make sure the soft dynamic lighting gives Worlds an illustrated feel."

Worlds Adrift is still in early stages of development but looks pretty decent. The sneak peak gameplay trailer will be the first in a series of videos that will be released over the coming weeks. Bossa is yet to announce a release date for Worlds Adrift, but you head over to the games forums to leave your feedback. Meanwhile, you can check out the new gameplay trailer below:
