EA looks into the possibility of creating free-to-start console games
EA Sports might venture into the world of “free-to-start” console games.

EA Sports got the infamous title of being one of the worst gaming corporations of the industry they have tried to redeem themselves a little. Thus to favor their cause they have decided to head down a more controversial path and venture into the world of “free-to-start” conosle games. As reported by GameSpot, EA CEO Andrew Wilson has made it known that the enterprise might be headed down this lane.

Wilson shared his views saying that the people now-a-days are proficient in using many electronic devices thus gamers will in the future can expect even console games to be free at the start. “On free-to-play, with consoles, we think about this much the way that we think about free-to-play overall. There’s a couple of different vectors to this. The first is as we look to the future, we believe a very big part of our player-base will expect a free-to-start experience. When we look at film, television, music, books, very often there is this free trial notion that actually onboards new players, new listeners, new readers, or new viewers into a service. We’re actively looking at how we could offer that type of experience to our players on console and across other platforms.”

This statement runs in both direction as EA Sports may drop the controversy ridden part of this statement if they wish to release accessible demo versions of the game before they can be purchased which might tip the scales in their favor however if we witness free to play AAA games pop up on consoles with multiple microtransactions that might create a problem.
