Messi or Ronaldo - who is the better shooter? FIFA Mobile decides

Argentina v Portugal - International Friendly
The Ronaldo vs Messi rivalry has defined modern day football

What's the story?

The bizarre saga of FIFA Mobile and its ratings continues to grow as it now appears that both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are not among the top five shooters in FIFA Mobile. The top shooting attribute in the latest FIFA Mobile update is shared by James Rodriguez and Eden Hazard, with Ronaldo finishing a lowly ninth and Messi a disappointing 17th.

The curious rating system of FIFA Mobile now claims that the shooting attributes of Hazard are actually superior to that of Ronaldo. Debatable, isn't it? Nevertheless, it makes for some interesting bit of information.

In case you didn't know...

FIFA Mobile continues to amass high numbers and the game is hugely popular worldwide. Though it may not be regarded as the best game of FIFA you have ever seen, the unique ratings make it one of the most talked about creations in the recent past.

The heart of the matter

The ratings on FUThead.com lay up some head scratching statistics. When you observe the shooting numbers for some of the top footballers in the world, Ronaldo ranks ninth with 102 in shooting overall. Messi, meanwhile, is the 17th best shooter in FIFA Mobile with 100 shooting rating. It is surprising that the likes of Lukas Podolski and Son Heung-min are ahead of two of the world's best strikers.

Podolski has a shooting rating of 104 while Son is rated 103, higher than both Messi and Ronaldo. However, in the process, EA Sports FIFA has somewhat given its verdict on who the better shooter of a football is.

What's next?

Apart from FIFA Mobile, FIFA 18 has been making the news lately with the EA Sports series making its return on 29th September this year. The game will be available on PS 4, Xbox One and PC, and Ronaldo is all set to hog the covers of the latest edition.

Author's take

The numbers on FIFA Mobile may be way off from the situation in reality but it does tend to entertain us with its weird rating system every other day.
