Big FIFA 18 ratings error makes ICON Ronaldo unable to perform signature 'elastico' trick in the game

What’s the story?

Ronaldo Nazario popularly known as O Fenômeno is considered to be one of the best players that ever set foot in the world. When one thinks of this mind-blowing player, the quirky trick, elastico (flip-flap) comes to mind. It looks like EA messed up with the stats of this legend. It's known that to perform the elastico trick on FIFA, 5-star skills are a requirement. The most ironic thing is that Ronaldo Nazario, a frequent and graceful user of this trick has been awarded 4-star skills. This means he, of all people, cannot perform this trick! What a shame... Ronaldo Nazario in his prime was incredibly lethal. He would do everything in full octane. His dribbling, body feints and sublime finishing would terrorize defenders no matter which team he played against. He hit his peak during the late 1990s and flourished at PSV, Barcelona and Inter Milan. He won many trophies playing for the above teams and won the World Cup twice with Brazil. He also won a plethora of individual awards, Ronaldo won the Balon d'Or twice and the FIFA World Player of the Year three times.

The heart of the matter

Ronaldo would often leave opposing players in the dust by performing the audacious elastico (flip-flap). After performing this trick, Ronaldo would sprint away with ease and run to glory as defenders behind him struggled to keep up.

It truly is disappointing that the elastico cannot be performed by Ronaldo in FIFA 18. It really was his signature move. EA does have some awkward questions to answer as it seems very foolish to award such an iconic legend 4-star skill moves. What's more ironic is that EA is selling an exclusive ICON edition of FIFA 18 featuring the Brazilian legend and he can't even perform the elastico.

This matter has enraged users throughout the FIFA Community and think it is a catastrophic decision. A multitude of users says that the people at EA who decide the traits/stats of a player really need to watch some football.

What’s next?

The FIFA 18 video game releases on 29th September. Players from all over the world eagerly wait for the day as they will try to get their hands on the much-acclaimed video game series as soon as possible.

It is very disappointing to see that Ronaldo cannot perform his signature move in FIFA 18. Maybe EA could rectify this in a future patch? Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to playing FIFA 18!
