What's the story?
FIFA 18 Team of the Year (TOTY) has been long awaited and EA Sports hasn't waited very long in releasing the next set of players to make it to the elite eleven group of players. After the forwards list was released Monday, fans can now witness the midfielders. Looking at these names, they won't be disappointed.
The next group of players in a midfield three are N'Golo Kante of Chelsea, Luka Modric of Real Madrid and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City making this a truly magnificent trio of talented players.
In case you didn't know...
Kante was instrumental in the Chelsea midfield as the Blues lifted the Premier League trophy; Modric did the same for Real Madrid as they won the Champions League and La Liga, while De Bruyne has been the major reason behind Manchester City's dominance in the Premier League this year.
The heart of the matter
It's hard to argue with the decision to have a midfield three to begin with, and Kante will be the holding midfield player in the team with Modric slightly ahead and De Bruyne the team's main playmaker.
The trio of players will have options up front with Harry Kane, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo practically being a three-man strike force.
What's next?
The next group of players to be released by EA Sports will be the defenders, which include a number of top nominations in what will certainly be a four-man back line. They will be followed by the goalkeeper's inclusion from the nominees available.

You really can't argue much with the three players chosen to represent TOTY, but with other top players like FC Barcelona's Andres Iniesta and Real Madrid's Toni Kroos included in the nominations, there will surely be a few, who would be wondering whether a change or two could have taken place in midfield.
