What's the story?
Fans have been patiently waiting for the entire FIFA Team of the Year (TOTY) and they can be happy to know that the wait is finally over. Today, EA Sports released the defenders in the team, which features four players.
The back line consists of Marcelo and Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid, Leonardo Bonucci of AC Milan and Dani Alves of PSG making the final four.
In case you didn't know...
The rest of the team includes Luka Modric, Kevin De Bruyne, N'Golo Kante, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Harry Kane in what appears to be one of the best teams in recent memory.
The heart of the matter
Out of the nominees available, these four have been given the nod and for good reason. Leonardo Bonucci has been sensational for Juventus initially and has done what he can in a frail AC Milan side. Moreover, his outstanding rating in FIFA 18 has further helped matters.
Marcelo and Sergio Ramos won the Champions League and La Liga double with Real Madrid and Dani Alves is piling on the assists and dominating in defence for PSG.
Their ratings are something to admire as well, with Ramos given a score of 97, followed by Bonucci, Marcelo and Alves at 96, 94 and 93 respectively.
