What's the story?
Popular FIFA website, Fifplay made a poll earlier regarding new leagues that can be added to FIFA 19. The poll is open to public and is active for a limited period of time. The website has asked fans to vote for their favorite league which might get officially licensed by EA Sports.
The first entry in the poll list is ISL itself and it presently is at 6th place with 25,370 votes. The poll can be accessed here.
In case you didn't know
There have been rumours earlier regarding the addition of ISL in FIFA. However, the third division German league was given preference over ISL last year and was added in FIFA 18.
Heart of the matter
Fifplay claims that the results of this poll are submitted to EA Sports FIFA and any option that gets the most votes has a fair chance of being added in the next edition of FIFA. The Czech League is presently at number one with 58,050 votes, it is closely followed by the Kazakhstan League with 56,498 Votes. The remaining three leagues which are still ahead of the ISL are Chinese League (52,878 Votes), UAE League (52,823 Votes) and the Iranian League (39,991 Votes).
What's ext?
It remains to be seen if the hugely popular ISL will be added to FIFA 19 or not. The first placed Czech League still almost has double the number of votes than ISL and all Indian football fans need to come together and vote for the league.
Author's take
ISL is still a fairly young league if compared to some of the other leagues on the list. The fact that it is present on the list is a huge positive for Indian football fans. Even if ISL is not added to FIFA 19, there is a high possibility that it will be added in the subsequent editions.
