Monolith Middle-earth game gets five nods

The nominees of this year’s GDC awards were announced recently. The event is due to be held in the month of March this year and will handout awards for such games which are innovative, well designed, have nice art or good stories, or were just the best games of 2014. 

Among those nominees was the Monolith Production's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which was leading the list with nominations in the Game of the Year, Best Design, Best Narrative, Best Technology, and the Innovation Award categories. Bungie’s Destiny as expected was in the ‘Game of the Year’ list, but the shocking omission was that of Dragon Age: Inquistition.

The winners will be announced March 4 at the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. In addition to the main categories and nominees below, there will also be an Audience Award determined by an online poll, as well as special Pioneer, Ambassador, and Lifetime Achievement awards, recipients of which will be announced prior to the event.
