Voice actors Nolan North and Troy Baker discuss their roles in 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End'

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Game Informer recently had a chance to interview voice actors Nolan North and Troy Baker on their roles in the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Nolan is the voice behind protagonist Nathan Drake while Troy Baker voices Nathan’s older brother Sam Drake. The two also discuss what it’s like working with each other.

Troy Baker claims that he got to know about Unchartered after his friend handed him the PS3 with the game during a bad movie shoot in Texas. After playing through Assassin’s Creed, Baker finally got around to playing Uncharted and loved it so much that he ended up emailing Naughty Dog Audio Director Phil Kovats. So when Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann approached Baker for the role of Sam Drake in Uncharted 4, Baker believed Druckmann was joking around and hung up. The conversation got more series when Druckmann called back told Baker that he was not kidding.

North states it was great to be working with Baker again in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, as the two have worked together previously on The Last of Us. The two seem to have a great working relationship with each other as seen in the video. This is despite fans thinking that the two hate each other.

As for the characters, Sam Drake was introduced in A Thief’s End as Nathan’s older brother who he believed was dead. So there’s a bit of mistrust between the two even though Nathan is still relieved to see his older brother again. The characters eventually warm up to each other, though the two actors admitted that both Nathan and Sam have a bit of sibling rivalry going on between them. This is not a big theme in the game, however, so all it ever culminates to is little quips.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is slated to release in the summer of 2015 exclusively for the PlayStation 4. You can check out the trailer here. Meanwhile, here is the interview with Nolan North and Troy Baker:
