Now Virtual reality buries you alive

Guys, have you ever wondered how it feels when you get buried alive? Mostly Not, because it’s a very very bad experience!! But there is some good news coming in for those who are always high on adrenaline.

Taphobos, which stems from Taphophobia(the fear of being buried alive) is a reality in the making. The Kill Screen had a look at this project, which was a result of two day “hackathon” in the University Of Nottingham.

It can be described as follows: One player is enclosed in an actual coffin wears an Oculus Rift, a headset and a microphone. The second player sits at a PC, located somewhere else, and wears a headset connected to the buried player. Now the ‘soon-to-be dead’ player makes the use of primitive maps drawn inside on the coffin lid to guide the player on the PC (who is actually playing the game in first-person) to the coffin’s location.

"This combination allows you to experience what it would be like if you were buried alive with just a phone call to the outside world," says the Taphobos website. To have the real death experience, be at EGX Rezzed in London next month.
