Yacht Club Games has announced a new expansion to the Shovel Knight franchise. The expansion will be free of cost to the owners of the original game and scheduled to release in the second quarter of 2015.
Plague of Shadows players will be playing via Plague Knight one of The Order of No Quarter bosses in Shovel Knight. If the developer’s blog is anything to go by, this expansion is something on the lines of a new campaign which Plague Knight has to fight his former comrades to create the Ultimate Potion. The developer also promises that this expansion will have features like “a new play style, new story, new bosses, and more". Add to that a new alchemy concoction system. Nice, huh?
Plague of Shadows can also be played at PAX East at the Yacht Club Games booth. Shovel Knight is slated to release in PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in April. Also, a rumour has begun circulating that Shovel Knight, will be a playable character in Road Rash’s spiritual successor Road Redemption. Possessing one of the best boss battles of 2014 and some of the most beautiful graphics and some gripping gameplay, Shovel Knight is a pretty good candidate for 2014’s best game of the year.
