There have been a few questions raised about the new Sports Budget.

India's Sports Budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which was announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, has brought in a fresh air of optimism in the sporting community.

With a total of Rs 2,196.36 crore ($343 million approx) being allotted for the development of various sports in the country, the budget sees an overall increase by 13.3 percent.

However, the Government has also come under some criticism for not allotting enough money in certain sectors. While 23.67 percent of the budget has gone to the Khelo India school games, the budget for the enhancement of the sports facilities in Jammu and Kashmir has been slashed to Rs 50 crore from last year's Rs 75 crore.

The current Sports Budget, though, is being largely regarded as one of the bests that India has had. However, as large as it currently seems there are plenty of other things in the world of sports that are costlier than India's sports Budget. Here, we take a look at a few of them.

#5 Net worth of a top F1 team ($470m approx)

Formula One is an expensive sport, and it is no surprise that a top team in the competition, generally tends to cost around $470m, according to NBC. There are a various number of factors that the team needs to invest in, including the high salaries of the drivers, engineers, pit crew, and a number of other things.

While the actual cost of an F1 car comes up to around $125m, the teams need to spend approximately around another $130m on the power unit, or the engine. That, along with various other aspects of the sport, makes owning an F1 team a rather expensive affair.

The IPL had caught the imagination of the Indian public ever since its inception in 2007. With huge sponsorship and advertising revenue being poured into the league, the players have been raking in the big bucks for over a decade now. According to data that is available from the previous season, IPL has a total worth of approximately $530 billion, or Rs 34,000 crore.

The T20 league provides the perfect platform for a money-making venture for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), with the matches being telecasted and streamed on primetime. What has made the league more spectator-friendly is the short format of the T20 game.

#3 Neymar Jr. (estimated price €500m or $623.13m)

Brazilian superstar became a phenomenon in world football during his time at FC Barcelona. To add to his skills and pace on the ball, the former Santos man was further helped by the fact that he was playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Anders Iniesta in a supremely talented FC Barcelona sid. He won two La Liga and one Champions League titles during his time with the Spanish giants.

However, PSG snapped him up in a mega-deal that cost the French Ligue 1 side £198m ($279.6m). Although Neymar does not have any release clause on his PSG contract, according to reports, other clubs seem to have valued him at a much higher rate than India's Sports Budget.

Indeed, there have been reports doing the rounds in the English media that Premier League giants Manchester United had lined up a €500m bid for him.

#2 Floyd Mayweather ($700m in career earnings)

Not only do they have an expensive squad, but they also have one of the best managers in the world, in the form of Pep Guardiola.
