A sport is a workman's art that demands a variety of skill sets. Patience, concentration and more importantly, the hunger to succeed. Needless to say, it is imperative that each and every sports star receives the support that they need to go the extra mile and achieve more.

On some occasions, stars do not receive enough support or come under severe criticism for their performances or certain actions on social media websites. In such a scenario, it is only human that they react and sometimes lose their temper.

Here are five such occasions when Indian sports stars lost their cool and vented their frustration through social media sites for various reasons.

#5 Jwala Gutta

One of the most prominent stars of India when it comes to the sport of badminton, Jwala Gutta has not been one to shy away from expressing her opinions and emotions off the court.

Just a couple of months back, the shuttler came under severe criticism after she was seen questioning the process of selecting the awardees for the Padma Shri award.

Having represented India and her state in a various number of tournaments, Jwala expected her name to be in the awardees list, but it was not to be.

Following this episode, her demand for a doubles coach for training the country's best fell on deaf ears and she was criticised further for the same.

Regardless of the pressure from social media, she took matters into her own hands and went on to vent her frustration at all the different comments; she went on to say that all she did was for the country and not for her own gain.

Indian wrestler and Olympic medal winner Sakshi Malik took social media by storm when she appeared to be utterly displeased with the unkept promise made by the Haryana government to offer her a sum of 2.5 crores and some land upon her arrival after successfully clinching the bronze medal at Rio 2016.

Sakshi created history by helping India to win its first medal in the competition, and in the process also became the first women wrestler to win a medal for India at the Olympic level.

On her return back at home, Sakshi was praised and applauded to no small level that her home state, Haryana needed to appreciate her efforts in a larger magnitude and hence the government decided to announce it was going to present her with the aforementioned awards.

However, with the government having taken no such step in a long time after her arrival, Sakshi took to Twitter in order to question the government's next move.

#3 Sania Mirza

In a battle of words that took place between tennis star Sania Mirza and former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar on Twitter, Sania seemed to have had final laugh as she managed to turn tables on the famed commentator.

After she tweeted a picture of her celebrating 80 weeks at the top of the ATP rankings, Manjrekar commented saying that she was ranked one only as a 'doubles player' and not a singles player.

An irked Sania went on to question Manjrekar's common sense, having stopped playing singles many years ago.

Sanjay Manjrekar then hit back with a tweet that had him blaming Sania for missing out on some important details, given her previous tweet.

However, Sania closed the book on this subject as she sent the commentator an article that covered all the details about her record.

#2 Yogeshwar Dutt

Yogeshwar Dutt rejoices his victory

Ahead of the Rio Olympics 2016, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) made the decision that Bollywood actor Salman Khan was to represent the Indian contingent as the Goodwill Ambassador. However, this move made one man very unhappy and that was Yogeshwar Dutt.

The 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist had more than just a few words to say and was visibly miffed at the decision as he took to Twitter to bash the IOA on their choice.

The wrestler expressed his displeasure at the decision and tweeted in Hindi that could be roughly translated as "Someone tell me what is the job of an ambassador. Why are you making the country's people mad?"

The wrestler received mixed criticism on the tweet but he made sure that he had made his point on the decision.

The skipper of the Indian team is bound to be surrounded by controversies, given the fan base that he has behind him. Moulding into one of the greatest cricketers in history, Kohli has done well to keep away from a lot of squabbles in recent times.

However, a year back, Kohli was seen expressing his antipathy at fans who seemed to enjoy commenting on the skipper's long term relationship with Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma.

After a masterful knock of 82* from 51 deliveries, he took India to victory against Australia in the World T20 that begun a string of tweets, trolling Anushka's state of mind at that point in time.

Adamant to the comments, Kohli put across one tweet that won hearts, as he appreciated Anushka's contribution to his success and scorned the tweets that put her down.
