Brazil name squad for Germany friendly

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) yesterday named their 23-man squad for the high profile friendly against Germany on August 10 at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Stuttgart.

But the bigger question was if coach Mano Menezes would be allowed to continue or be sacked after the Copa America debacle. Brazil went out of the tournament at the quarterfinal stage after a penalty shootout defeat against Paraguay where the Brazilians couldn’t score from four penalties.

The CBF have kept faith in Mano Menezes with his task continuing to be to prepare the Selecao for the 2014 FIFA World Cup at home in Brazil.

The Germany friendly will be a good test for the Brazilians, who haven’t made too many changes in their overall squad though at home in Brazil the media and fans have demanded the inclusion of Real Madrid star Kaka, but Mano Menezes has not called on the experienced attacking midfielder.
