The inaugural season of Maruti Suzuki Devils Circuit College Frenzy is just around the corner and participants are doing their best to get in perfect shape and condition. With an intimidating, timed obstacle course in store, College Frenzy is expected to be one of the most challenging courses ever seen. The level of preparation and fitness needed to excel in the competition will be very high and the competitive edge and rivalry between teams would make it that much more intense.

Let’s take a sneak peek at what’s in store and how you need to prepare for it:

Mastering the Chin-up

An exercise key to helping develop upper body strength and endurance, the chin-up is one of the toughest exercises to master and is key to developing upper back strength and stamina. A form of the pull-up, this is an ideal exercise to prepare for different obstacles one can face in the College Frenzy like The Vertical Climb, The Devil's Step and The Dead Ringer.

Ideally, 4 sets of 15 repetitions each, with different hand grips can help master this exercise well.

Jump lunges

Designed to help increase speed and help build strength in the lower half of the body, jump lunges are essential to prepare for College Frenzy. The intensity of the exercise makes it very similar to the obstacles found in the Devils Circuit like The Summit and Devils Hanger.

Focused on improving lower body strength, stamina and adding speed, this exercise should be done in 4 sets of 15 repetitions each for best results.

Push-ups

Though a very basic exercise, doing push-ups well is a key reason why one can do well in College Frenzy. Great for the shoulders and the midriff, push-ups help develop upper body strength and build resistance and stamina. Due to the complicated nature of obstacles in College Frenzy, the ability to do push-ups in multiple ways adds flexibility and adaptability during the challenges. Expertise at the push-up can also help save time during tough obstacles.

This exercise is planned keeping in mind recovery speeds on obstacles, with a view to adding strength and stamina so contestants are able to complete obstacles faster. With one of the toughest obstacle courses waiting, you need to be quick, light on the feet and move with precision. The exercise adds another important level of agility and fitness to one's personality and is key to doing well in the shortest possible time in College Frenzy.

Burpees with tuck jumps

A burpee is physically demanding and combined with a tuck jump, it becomes really tough and intense, but promises great rewards if done well consistently. The burpee involves initially getting into a crouch position, before getting both legs parallel to the ground. After that, one has to do a push-up and then crouch again. To complete the tuck jump, jump with your knees almost raised to the level of your chest.

Designed to help decrease response time apart from improving strength and flexibility, the combination of the burpee and the tuck jump makes this one of the toughest exercises to perfect. You need to master the burpees with tuck jumps just to get into the College Frenzy, let alone win it! This is a must do!
