I-League transfer rumours

As the I-league is reaching its final phase, few top class players whose contract period are ending up this season are under the scanner of many big clubs who are thinking of improving their squad strength and the rankings for the new season. As usual, its the giant clubs of Kolkata struggling to win the I-League title are the front runners ready for splashing money for the big guns.

Tolgay Ozbey

The Australian striker of East Bengal, Tolgay Ozbey is the most probable player who is rumoured to switch to his city rivals Mohun Bagan. Tolgay had been the spearhead for East Bengal and also been the top scorer for his club in I-League. He is also considered to be one of the best attacker in I-League. As his contract ends this season, Mohun Bagan are turning their attention to this super striker. Mohun Bagan having a history of signing the very best of India every season won’t be having much to think of before bringing in Tolgay as their new striker for the Asian quota. While, Goan giant Dempo are also rumoured to be in the race for signing Tolgay.

Ranti Martins

The Dempo striker Ranti Martins who is the top scorer of I-league this season who expressed his desire to play in Kolkata last month is being linked with East Bengal for the next season. The Nigerian was expected to move to East Bengal last season but the move was cancelled by Dempo who couldn’t find a striker of his class to replace him. But, Ranti is all set to make a move to Kolkata next season as he thinks its time to move and make his name a household name among the football crazy fans of Kolkata.

The other Nigerian striker playing for Mohun Bagan, Odafa Okolie might renew his contract with his current club for yet another season but, he is reportedly asking for a whooping amount of 3.5 crores to sign for another season. He was brought in from Churchill Brothers last season by Mohun Bagan for a record fee of 1.5 crore. The Prayag United midfielder Denson Devdas is also a transfer target for Mohun Bagan next season.
