Para-athletes Mariyappan Thangavelu, Varun Singh Bhati, and Sharad Kumar are ranked world number 1, 2 and 3 in High Jump in the T-42 category and had achieved for the country what no other athlete had before.

This was the first time in the history of Indian sports that the country held the top three ranks in the world. And yet, little or no fuss was made about this remarkable achievement.

India’s para-athletes have always been impressive at the world stage and had won a total of 8 medals before the 2016 games. The performance at this year's edition firmly put the Indians as top contenders, with the country's para-athletes winning a total of 4 medals, including two Golds, one Silver and one Bronze.

Devendra Jhajharia created history by becoming the first Indian ever to win two individual Gold medals with his World Record in Javelin throw while Deepa Malik became the first Indian woman para-athlete to win a medal with her Silver at the Games.

The men’s High Jump saw the country win two medals, with Mariyappan Thangavelu getting the Gold, while Varun Bhati secured the Bronze.

Para-athletes strive to perform at the highest level, working hard day in and out and go through the same gamut of emotions that regular athletes go through and deserve the same sort of support.

This is where organizations like IndusInd Bank have stepped in and offered great financial assistance and infrastructure.

The #JeetKaHalla film promotes the participation of Indian para-athletes at the Games and encourages them to give their best for their country.

An inspirational film, it features para-athletes like Rajinder Singh Rahelu, the powerlifter who won Bronze in 2004, Niranjan Mukundan, the swimmer who clinched 8 medals at the recently concluded International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports U-23 World Games and Ram Karan, who had won silver medals in the 800m event at the Para Asian Games in 2010 and 2014

The film celebrates the hard work they put in to do their best for the country and urges the rest of the nation to support them vociferously and celebrate their achievements with a great sense of pride.
