Magnus 2016: Day 1 review

Magnus 2016
The Football event happening at Magnus.

Magnus 2016 kicked off with Ashoka University’s comprehensive win against SRM University, beating them 4-0 in football. With that, the day found itself entangled with a string of extremely competitive matches of football, cricket, badminton, TT, volleyball, throwball, amongst many of the scheduled sports events. From a close victory by a mere point, to plain dominance over the team- Day 1 of Magnus 2016 saw it all.

The essence of any fest is lost without an array of food options to choose from. Subway, Bollywood Dhaba, Domino’s, Kwality Walls, Bunny’s Pizza, Chawla’s, Egg-jacktly, Sushi Smoked House, Dunkin’ Donuts- you name it, we had it. The stalls were crowded throughout the day, with people stopping and posing for photographs with their food, proud jerseys, and even the Instagram frames.

One would think that rain during a sports-fest would be the worst thing which could happen; however, it added to the benefit of the fest. All the matches went on smoothly, with people happily and merrily dancing in the rain, and filling social media of the fun they were having. Meanwhile, the sky painted itself with a beautiful rainbow to add more colour to the event. It shined upon us, as if to say, ”Hey! Why shouldn’t nature have some fun at Magnus 2016, as well?”
