NASM: A launchpad to sports management in India

On the 30th of July, the National Academy of Sports Management (NASM) opened its doors to youth who have a passion for sports and the aspiration to achieve formal education in sports management. The orientation ceremony was graced by many dignitaries from the sports fraternity.

Mr Henry Menezes, former India national football team goalkeeper, who is currently CEO at the Western India Football Association, inspired students by sharing the challenges and experiences he went through to find success in the sports industry.

Mr.Jitendra Joshi, Co-founder & CEO at SportzConsult and Mr.Dinesh Nair, the head for Grassroot Development at Mumbai City FC guided youth regarding innumerable career opportunities present within the ambit of sports.

Father Lawrence, Technical Director at IISA and Mr.Nirmal Shah, Director at EduTours shared their perspectives on the various aspects of sports management.

The degree and diploma courses offered by NASM are recognized by the leading UGC-recognised Bharathiar University, which was re-accredited by the NAAC with an “A” Grade. The institute was conferred the title of “Best Academy with Innovative Course in Sports Management” at the Asia Education Summit Award - 2015.

NASM is also an associate member of international associations such as the North American Society for Sports Management and the European Association of Sports Management.

“I am glad to join NASM, as on the very first day I got to interact with an array of professionals from the sports industry.” said an excited student all set to start his lectures at NASM, where passion meets career.
