Reebok Crossfit Nano 4.0 Review

A review of Reebok's latest offering in cross fit training. The Reebok Crossfit Nano 4.0.

Reebok Crossfit Nano 4.0

Reebok Crossfit Nano 4.0 finally made its way into India in mid-June after its international release last year. Many see this shoe as a benchmark in cross fit training shoes. Remember Nike’s Metcon 1, Nike launched it just to compete with Nano 4.0. This shoe took the US market by storm and we confident that the same will follow in India. Let us look at these cross fit shoes.

Regarding the styling, you will never feel that these shoes are dull. Reebok made sure that this shoe catches everyone’s eye. Apart from that, Reebok also gives us the option to customize the shoe’s color to our liking (This is amazing!). We are not sure if Reebok introduces this feature in India though.

The Nano 4.0 is one comfortable shoe. You do not even feel like you are wearing a shoe. The comfort and the fitting is spectacular. We can say that it comes second to none in the cross fit shoe industry. These shoes weigh around 260g and are definitely not the lightest in the industry. Reebok used Kevlar aramid fibers (yes, the same material used in bulletproof vests) in these shoes. This offers amazing levels of strength to weight ratio. Now, that is always a plus in any shoe. The 4mm heel-to-toe drop should offer a natural ground feel along with increased levels of stability.

Reebok calls its new upper as Duracage Protective upper. It does not matter what they call it, this high-density polymer open weave mesh upper offers best in class support and durability. It also offers anti-moisture lining all around the shoe (this is quickly becoming an industry standard). Now, no more wet feet. Breathability levels of the shoe are unmatched. In fact even better than Nike’s Metcon 1. It also has an anti-friction lining (you guessed it right); it makes sure that the friction between the surfaces is almost zero. No irritation whatsoever. Along with this, Reebok also introduced RopePro protection wrap. This offers that extra bit of support you need for all your rock climbing. If you ask us to rate the upper, we would give it a perfect score.

The most important thing in a cross fit shoe is the traction. This shoe already has RopePro. What else? It also features a unique patterned outsole for added levels of traction on multiple terrains (something similar to Nike’s Waffle outsole). Your feet should have no lateral movement during workouts, thanks to the rigid upper. To this, add a meshed webbing in the toe-box. Now this shoe offers unprecedented levels of lockdown. There is rubber padding all over the upper of the shoe; this should offer good levels of rigidity. Where it excels is that it offers unparalleled levels of protection. A strong plus for any cross fit training shoe.

It offers a great balance between your regular runs and those intense workouts. Believe us, achieving that balance is a difficult task. This is where Rebook grabs the spotlight. If you are still not sure about buying this. Just go for it, in terms of cross fit training shoe, it shall be the best decision you will ever make.

A size 9 shoe retails at 9,999 INR and is available at all major Reebok stores and online retailers. If you search around online, you may even get this shoe at a discounted price.

Bottom-line: A shoe for everything.
