ROH World Tag Team Championship Match

MJF had been feuding against Adam Cole in mid-2023, but were forced to team up with him on a few occasions. During this time, the two superstars started to like each other's company and eventually became tag team named Better Than You BayBay and won the ROH World Tag Team Championship. However, Cole got soon injured and is unable to compete at Full Gear. Nonetheless, The Gunns want a title shot, and MJF will defend the gold with a mystery partner at the event. The mystery partner was soon revealed to former ROH World Champion Samoa Joe. During the pre-show, though MJF was injured, he and Samoa Joe still managed to retain the gold.

ROH World Championship Match

At Dynamite: Grand Slam in September 2023, Eddie Kingston defeated Claudio Castagnoli to win the ROH World Championship for the first time in his career. Soon after becoming the champion, he was challenged by a superstar who knows how to handle the title better than anyone else. Jay Lethal has won the ROH World Championship twice. The impressive feat is that, accross the two reigns, he held the belt for 707 days, which is the most held by any. At Full Gear, the current ROH Champion is set to defend his title against the longest reigning ROH Champion. At the event, the current champion managed to reign supreme in a hard-hitting contest.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Buddy Matthews

A total of three matches were contested in the pre-show of Full Gear 2023. One of them saw two former WWE superstars go neck to neck in a singles match. Claudio Castagnoli of The Blackpool Combat Club fought against Buddy Matthews of House of Black at AEW Full Gear 2023. In the end, the inaugural WWE Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner stood tall against Buddy Matthews.

Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Toni Storm

Toni Storm became the first-ever two-time AEW Women's Champion in 2023. Just a few months later, her record was surpassed by Hikaru Shida, who became the first superstar to do so thrice. Shida was also the superstar responsible for ending Storm's second title run. The two are now set to collide at Full Gear for Shida's AEW Women's Championship. At the event, Toni Storm proved to be the better superstar and won the AEW Women's Championship for the third time in her career.

Six-Man Tag Team Match

At AEW WrestleDream, TNT Champion Christian Cage defended his gold against Darby Allin in a best-of-three match. Cage retained. After the match, he, Luchasauras and Nick Wayne started brutally attacking Allin and Sting. The two were rescued by a debuting Adam Copeland. While Copeland and Cage had been partners all around the world, his debut was not welcomed by Cage. A six-man tag team match between the two trios was then set up for Full Gear. Edge, Sting and Allin left the ring as the victors after a 15-minute long battle.

Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jon Moxley

Orange Cassidy became the longest reigning AEW International Champion in 2023. He defended the title against Jon Moxley in the main event of All Out 2023, and lost it to the The Blackpool Combat Club member. However, just within a span of five weeks, Moxley lost the belt to Rey Fenix, who lost it back to Cassidy on Dynamite. Moxley demanded a rematch for the gold, which he will get at Full Gear. The King of Sloth Style managed to beat the Lunatic Fringe in a battle of styles.

Hangman Page vs Swerve Strickland

Following a convincing win over Blackpool Combat Club at Blood and Guts, Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, and Hangman Page all went their ways once again. Page got involved in a feud against Swerve Strickland. The former Hit Row member defeated the former AEW World Champion at WrestleDream and the two stars will collide once again at Full Gear. At the event, Strickland broke Page's streak in Texas Deathmatches, and emerged victorious.

The Golden Jets vs. The Young Bucks

Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho started hanging around a few weeks ago and this unlikely duo was not met with pleasure from Omega's friends The Young Bucks. The latter are the current number one challengers for AEW World Tag Team Championship. A match between the two teams was set for Full Gear where if The Golden Jets win, they will get the title opportunity instead of The Bucks. However, in case Bucks win, The Golden Jets will have to disband. In a match that lasted around 21 minutes, Omega and Jericho defeated The Bucks and took their AEW World Title oppurtunity.

Kris Statlander (c) vs. Julia Hart vs. Red Velvet or Skye Blue

AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander will defend her title in a Three-Way match at AEW Full Gear. While Julia Hart has punched her ticket to the match, only one of Red Velvet or Skye Blue will make it to Full Gear. At the event, the title changed hands as Julia Hart of the House of Black finally got her hands on the AEW TBS Championship.

Four Way match for AEW World Tag Team Championship

Ricky Starks and Big Bill are the current AEW World Tag Team Champions. They are booked to defend their gold against La Facción Ingobernable (Rush and Dralístico), FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler), and Kings of The Black Throne (Malakai Black and Brody King) in a Four Way match at Full Gear 2023. At the event, the champs managed to hold on their gold.

MJF (c) vs. Jay White

MJF will compete in two matches at Full Gear. Following a pre-show title defense, MJF will defend his AEW World Championship in the main event of Full Gear 2023 against Jay White. Jay White has been feuding against The MJF alongside the fellow members of Bullet Club Gold (Juice Robinson, and The Gunns). He stole MJF's title and was granted a match for the same. MJF was injured during his pre-show match where he defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Thus, his already injured friend Adam Cole stepped in. However, he was not medically cleared to compete and was replaced by MJF again. Finally, MJF and Jay White competed and the champion managed to retain the title.

AEW Full Gear History

In 2018, pro wrestlers such as Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega responded to a remark by journalist Dave Meltzer that no promotion other than WWE could sell 10000 tickets. They organized an event called All In, which sold more than 12000 tickets in less than 30 minutes. This became the stepping stone of something huge. In 2019, the superstars were met by Pakistani-American billionaire Tony Khan, who brought money on the table to kickstart a new professional wrestling promotion, which came to be known as All Elite Wrestling or simply AEW. AEW first revealed a Big Four PPV calender including Double or Nothing, All Out, Revolution and Full Gear. The first event of the latter took place in 2019. It is the only AEW event that traditionally takes place on Saturdays.

The event always takes place around The Veterans Day. The 2023 edition also took place on Saturday which collides with AEW Collision's timings. Thus, the weekly programming moved to Friday for this particular week and aired from Kia Forum only.
