Christian Cage (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

Christian Cage won the AEW TNT Championship at World's End PPV after defeating his former friend Adam Copeland. Copeland wanted a rematch for the title and Daniel Garcia wanted a chance to challenge for the gold. Thus, a match between Copeland and Garcia took place at Dynamite, which Garcia won, setting up a match at AEW Revolution. At the event, Red Death gave a tough challenge to Cage in a 17 minute match but the champion ultimately retained.

Eddie Kingston vs. Bryan Danielson

At AEW World's End in December 2023, Eddie Kingston made history by becoming the first-ever AEW Triple Crown Champion as held AEW Continental Championship, NJPW Strong Openweight Championship and ROH World Championship. He did so by beating Jon Moxley, which earned the attention of Moxley's partner Bryan Danielson leading to a match at AEW Revolution. If Danielson wins, he wins the title. But if he loses, he will have to shake Kingston's hands. Their match lasted 20 minutes and resulted in Kingston retaining his gold. Per the stipulation, The American Dragon had to shake hands with Kingston.

All-Star Scramble Match

AEW Revolution will feature an All-Star Scramble Match, the winner of which will get a future AEW World Championship match. The rules of a Scramble match are simple - no wrestler gets eliminated, and the one who scores the last pinfall or submission when the time expires is announced as the winner. The announced participants for AEW Revolution's All-Star Scramble Match were Chris Jericho, Wardlow, Powerhouse Hobbs, Lance Archer, Hook, Brian Cage, Magnus and Dante Martin. The match lasted 15:45 minutes and resulted in former TNT Champion Wardlow taking home the victory. He will now challenge the AEW World Champion Samoa Joe at a future event.

Orange Cassidy vs Roderick Strong

Following the shocking reveal of Adam Cole as the mysterious "Devil" at AEW Worlds End, the Undisputed Kingdom emerged, a powerful faction led by Cole and featuring established wrestlers like Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Wardlow. Declaring their ambitious goals, Strong set his sights on the coveted AEW International Championship held by the nonchalant Orange Cassidy. After a tense confrontation following Cassidy's match, Strong issued a formal challenge for the title at the Revolution pay-per-view, setting the stage for an explosive encounter. At the event, Roderick Strong defeated Cassidy marking the only title change at the event.

FTR vs. Blackpool Combat Club

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, known as FTR, took on The Blackpool Combat Club at AEW Revolution in a tag team match. Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli faced the two superstars at the event. The 22 minutes was an instant classic where Moxley and Castagnoli eventually prevailed.

Toni Storm vs Deonna Purazzo

Deonna Purrazzo's arrival in AEW on January 3rd sent shockwaves through the women's division. She wasted no time declaring her sights set on the coveted AEW Women's World Championship held by "Timeless" Toni Storm. With impressive victories, Purrazzo swiftly climbed the ranks, securing the coveted number one contender spot and earning a championship clash with Storm at AEW Revolution. It was the only female match on the main card and lasted about 12 minutes where Storm retained her title.

Will Ospreay vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Will Ospreay joined AEW as a full-time wrestler in 2024 after his contract with NJPW was expired. He will be facing his former foe Konosuke Takeshita at his AEW debut as a contracted wrestler. The match lasted 22 minutes and came to an end with Takeshita's shoulders on the mat and Ospreay's hand raised by the referee.

Swerve Strickland vs Hangman Page vs Samoa Joe

A heated rivalry between Swerve Strickland and "Hangman" Adam Page unfolded throughout late 2023, with Strickland claiming victories over Page in both singles and Texas Death matches. With Samoa Joe capturing the AEW World Championship in December, both wrestlers staked their claim at the title. Their undefeated January run and top rankings in the contendership race led to a match on February 7th to determine Joe's challenger at Revolution. However, the match ended in a draw, forcing a dramatic twist: a three-way battle for the championship at Revolution, pitting Joe against both Strickland and Page. Joe won the match to retain his title.

Sting and Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks

Sting and Darby Allin won the Tag Team Titles on February 7th, but were immediately attacked by The Young Bucks. The Bucks, now calling themselves Matthew and Nicholas, declared themselves the #1 contenders and demanded a title shot. Allin, with Sting absent due to injury, accepted the challenge, setting up a Tornado Tag Team match at Revolution for the Tag Team Titles. At the event, the tag team champions successfully defended the titles against AEW EVPs. This was also the last match to cap off Sting's illustrious wrestling career.

AEW Revolution History

AEW's Revolution pay-per-view started in 2020 as a partnership event with the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, later becoming one of the company's "Big Four" quarterly shows. After a couple of schedule adjustments due to COVID-19 and boxing events, Revolution settled into its early March slot with live audiences returning in 2022. Notably, wrestling legend Sting announced his retirement match will be at the 2024 Revolution, adding significant weight to the upcoming event.

Revolution boasts several achievements: winning the "Best Major Wrestling Show" award in 2020 and becoming the highest-grossing non-WWE PPV since 1999 in 2021. The upcoming 2024 Revolution, AEW's fifth annual major pay-per-view, will be held on March 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina. Notably, this event marks the final match in wrestling legend Sting's 40-year career, with Ric Flair confirmed to be by his side. Tickets went on sale in December and due to overwhelming demand, AEW has been continuously opening up more sections to accommodate fans. This promises to be a landmark event for both Sting and AEW.
