About Dhangadhi Premier League 2019

The Dhangadi Premier League or the DPL is a franchise cricket league which is hosted in Nepal. It was founded in 2017 by Dhangadi Cricket Academy along with Sudur Paschim academy. The 2019 season is the third season of this tournament.

There are a total of six teams participating in this tournament namely- Biratnagar Kings from Biratnagar, CYC Attariya from Attariya, Kathmandu Goldens from Kathmandu, Mahendranagar United from Bhimdatta, Rupandehi Challengers from Butwal and Dhangadi Stars from Dhangadi. There were two other teams- Kanchanpur Iconic from Bhimdatta which left the tournament in 2017 and Team Chauraha Dhangadi which left in 2018.

The tournament is played in round robin format where each of the six teams play five matches against the remaining five teams. The top four team from the standings then qualify for the playoffs where they battle to reach the finals. So far there has two seasons of the Dhangadi Premier League, both of which have been won by Team Chauraha Dhangadi. The current Top scorer in the history of the tournament is Paras Khadka of Team Chauraha Dhangadi with 175 runs and the Top Wicket Taker is Sushil Kandel of Biratnagar Kings with 17 wickets.
