NXT TakeOver XXX is an upcoming professional wrestling event produced by WWE for their NXT brand division. It was originally called NXT TakeOver: Boston. The event is set to take place on August 22, 2020 at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. As the name says, NXT Takeover XXX is going to be the 30th NXT TakeOver event.
In terms of WWE events Chronology, the NXT Takeover XXX is following the Horror Show at Extreme rules and would be followed by SummerSlam. The last NXT event on the other hand was In Your House. The matches will be based upon scripted storylines. And like any other WWE event, the matches will have results predetermined by WWE's writers on the NXT brand.
With the current North American Champion Keith Lee voluntarily vacating the North American Championship to allow other wrestlers to have a shot at it, it may be the prime title match of the event. Keith who is also the NXT Champion will be focusing on defending it. A series of triple threat matches will serve as qualifiers for a five-man ladder match to be held at TakeOver XXX. The winner of the ladder match will be crowned the North American Champion
The venue for the NXT Takeover XXX was originally decided to be TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. In fact the Event was originally called WWE NXT Takeover Boston. But after Boston's mayor Marty Walsh announced the suspension of all large-scale gatherings due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and refused permits for an event that could draw a large crowd before September 7, the event was relocated to Full Sail University in Winter Park Florida and was renamed NXT Takeover XXX.
