The Pakistan cricket team will tour South Africa towards the end of December 2018 to February 2019. The series will feature three Test matches, five One Day Internationals and three T20 matches respectively. Both teams will be looking to use the ODI matches in the series to prepare for the upcoming 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The Pakistan cricket team will first play a warm up game against South Africa Invitation XI. The game will be a three day test match starting from 19 to 21 December 2018 at Willowmoore Park, Benoni.
The main series will start with three test matches. The first test will be played from 26–30 December 2018 at the SuperSport Park, Centurion. The second test will be played from 3–7 January 2019 in Newlands, Cape Town. The third and final test match will start on 11th January 2019.
After a four day break the two teams will start the One Day International series. The first match of the ODI will be played on 19 January 2019 at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth. The second match will be played after a two day break on 22 January at Kingsmead, Durban. The third ODI will be played on 25 January at SuperSport Park, Centurion. The fourth match will start on 27 January at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, followed by the fifth and final ODI match on 30 January at Newlands, Cape Town.
The two teams will then get a single day break to prepare themselves for the T20 matches. The first T20 match will be played on 1 February at Newlands, Cape Town. The second match will start on 3 February at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, followed by third and final match which will be played on 6 February at SuperSport Park, Centurion.
Head to Head
The last time Pakistan played against the South African side in a series of multiple format matches was back in October 2013. Both the teams toured United Arab Emirates to face each other in two test matches, five One Day Internationals and two T20 matches.
Pakistan started the series with a strong win, but South Africa settled the score with the second test match in their bags. Pakistan could only manage to win one ODI match out of the possible five. Putting the cherry on the cake South Africa dominated Pakistan in both the ending T20 matches and won the whole series.
