IndianOil and PGTI announce 17th IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf 2016

The 17th edition of the IndianOil SERVO Masters Golf will be held from 16th to 19th November, 2016, at the Digboi Golf Links under the aegis of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).

The prize money for the tournament has been raised to Rs. 35 lakhs. The Pro-Am event will be held on 20th November.

The field will feature a total of 97 players including 93 professionals and four amateurs. The top 50 players and ties will make the cut after round two.

The field will feature some of India’s top professionals such as Shankar Das (defending champion), Mukesh Kumar (six-time champion), Shamim Khan, Udayan Mane, Digvijay Singh, M Dharma, Honey Baisoya, Harendra Gupta and Amardip Sinh Malik, to name a few.

Australian Kunal Bhasin, winner of the 2013 edition, will be leading the foreign challenge this year. Besides Bhasin, the other foreign players participating are, Sri Lankan Anura Rohana and Germany’s Sean Einhaus.

The local professionals in the field are Deben Bhumiz, Biren Karmakar, Bipon Mura, Jackson Naidu and Kishore Kumar Talukdar while the two local amateurs in the field are Deepraj Chetia and Zakir Hussain.

The venue, the picturesque Digboi Golf Links, is a golfer’s delight. The course is a one of its kind in terms of ambience as it is situated among the lush tea estates and thick forest of eastern Assam.

The historic Digboi Golf Links is bordered by the Dehing forest reserve on three sides and the magnificent Patkai range of mountains on the fourth. This 72 par course with a yardage of 6329 could also be termed as the best in the north-eastern part of the country due to its magnificent layout.
